nonono. This is not "change is scary" There are clear problems with this and sweeping it under the rug as "change is scary" is incredibly reductive. We lookforward to the streams specifically because we're excited to hear about the new changes. How's change scary? Collab gacha has no benefits for us - they replace new flash characters, so this means overall the flash pool will grow slower - there will be 2 characters, so this means sparking twice if you want to get both - a new player that has come to gbf because of the collab will be hit with this double spark problem - super FOMO for fans of the crossover - what happens during a rerun? power levels: - are the gacha collab characters going to be stronger than the free ones? - are they going to be as strong as a regular grand? Considering they're taking the place of a grand character - is it a good idea for super limited characters like these to be as good as grands? - if the gacha characters are as strong as limited characters usually are, is this even good? FOMO aside, you would end up in a situation where you need the gacha characters for some setups like GW (like how Luffy was used) or HL raids (niche Gachapin use) - cygames have said that these characters shouldn't be relevant for GW. If true, this is a massive waste of a spark. 2 sparks even This is just a logistical nightmare riddled with FOMO. Additionally, yes, making characters costs money. However, the entire point of a collab is to advertise gbf and draw in people that are fans of the IP gbf is collabing with and make them play gbf. Additionally, this is a good way to surprise gbf fans that are already playing and a collab with an IP they like gets announced. Also keep in mind new players would have to spark for 2 characters. This is absurd. And that's without even going in to the fact that the few good news from the stream are lukewarm and the 3 bad news are huge bombshells accompanied with KMR going "bye, not my problem and you won't meet the replacement until idk when bye" And don't get me started on LIMITED GACHA Eternals and Evokers. There's no need to pretend that Eternals and Evokers don't get outclassed by 4* gala characters so taking an Eternal or Evoker and making them seasonal gacha? Oh yeah, that effort spent on 6* Eternals will be completely devalued soon. Sure, Song won't powercreep Song too hard because she's Song and Song sucks, but who wants to see Summer Siete compare to 6* Siete?

Something no one else seems to have brought up in r/GranblueEn is the fact that it's *two* characters in the collab gacha pool, not one. That means that, assuming the collab gacha has the same rates as regular gacha focuses, there's a decent chance that 300 pulls will not get you *either* character. I think this is a huge deal - I've seen and personally experienced several sparks where not a single rate-up character was pulled, and in the case of banners where multiple rate-up characters/summons were good, the player would only end up getting one desired character/summon from the Spark itself. I think this is really toxic design, and it's going to burn a lot of people who saved up "only" 300 rolls and just had bad luck.

Another thing some people are not too hyped about is Eternals (and later also Evokers) appearing in the gacha pool. It's mostly concerns about the power level: are they going to be too powerful and thus NEED TO PULL characters or more balanced like other gacha characters but then feel less like Eternals/Evokers? (Although some players are just happy to be able to pull more copies of their favourite characters.) I guess time will tell how the player base will react...

While I understand you're trying to be somehow neutral about the subject, I think people have a good reason to not be happy about it and to be vocal against it. Because if we accept this, then next time it will be something else. And then something else again. It won't end. Cygames's goal, as a company, is to make money, not to make us happy.

I think that if it was just the Collab gacha thing i'd be worried but not a doomer. But when you pair it with KMR announcing that he's leaving at the same time, it's really hard not to put the two items together in your head and think "oh no, this is the start of some big changes that are going to be bad". It then leads you to looking at the stream rewards and going "huh, first summer stream they didn't give a sunstone out on since 2017", and just having all that build up and cause worry.

I'm expecting Water's Uruki next. Chichiri(boshi) is 井宿, the first "Mansion" of the Zhuque/Suzaku constellation. Ami(boshi) is 亢宿, second Mansion of the Qinglong/Seiryu constellation, Uruki(boshi) is 女宿, third of Xuanwu/Genbu. Which is something, I guess. I don't know the deal with Shushuku? For the pattern Earth, the fourth of Baihu/Byakko would be 昴宿 Subaru(boshi). There is the sixth, 觜宿 Toroki(boshi) which has an alternate reading of Shishuku. ししゅく vs しゅしゅく. Considering they didn't actually say Shushuku is a Saint, Cygames could be teasing plot with Huanglong and Qilin.

Could we get some news and balance patches for relink too? I've fallen for the franchise but we've only had the initial news of 1 upcoming new boss and thats it. Its ne a shame if cygames let's that game die.

Personally, I play kind of slow and am always super cautious for these high level raids. So having an actual timer just adds a lot of stress to an already stressful raid. Ill probably clear it eventually but yeah the time pressure sucks IMO
