BSA Florida Sea Base 2008

Two years of planning and training, AWAC Boy Scouts embarked on a two week adventure. One week was spent in travel while the second week we lived aboard the Conch Pearl, scuba diving on the reefs around the Keys and learning about animals of the Keys and life on a schooner.
Bluffton, Indiana, where most of the scouts on this trip were from is even smaller than Logansport. Logansport, Indiana has a nice dive quarry at France Park. This is a super place for tune up dives before a bigger trip. Every time I've been there, we run across the paddle fish. Those are some highly interesting (and very large) fresh water fish!
In my hometown cant belive it logansport is soooo small
Hey. Our Troop is also going to Sea Base 2013 spring break. We are Troop 22 from Los Alamos, New Mexico. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE
Going for spring break. CANT WAIT!!!! I love diving. I'm from Troop 22, Los Alamos New Mexico. Scuba diving is probably one of my all time favorite things to do in life. SO STOKED FOR SEA BASE!!! Went to Philmont 2012 summer. Did the horseback cattlecade trip at Philmont. Im honostly looking forward to Sea Base more
Going next year cant wait, we barely got in spring break week next year, we are from Lakewood Colorado
Hey Golfwhiz, hope you have a great trip! What adventure are you doing?
Going next summer cant wait
Just got back from sea base. I loved it! From Dallas!
I have done all three of the high adventures I'd say philmont was the hardest of all three then northernteer and lastly sea base while there i did the coral reef sailing with the imfamous CAPTIAN RON just like from the movie but much older not wearing an eye patch his boat was the Sudden Impulse i was the ASPL of my troop at the time and acting SPL of the outing the captian called me boss just like in the movie he was from the Pa Slatebelt very close to my home town so we could relate
@tmpdmkb All the footage for this video was 720p using a housed Sanyo Xacti HD1A. The new HD2 is supposed to have much better low light capability and would now be a better choice. Check on availability of a housing before buying a camera. Remember, frequent manual white balance adjustment is vital to decent underwater footage. The editing is equally important and my video editing is done using Final Cut Pro on Mac computers. Enjoy your trip!
My troop will be doing the sail and dive adventure summer of 2011. What type of camera did you use?
Great to hear that you are heading to Sea Base. What adventure are you participating in? Hope you have as much fun there as we did!
SWEET our troop 810 is currently getting certified and weel be scubadiving in 2010 summer!
hey man i know galaradoguy personally and we r going to seabase in july and we r in troop 442 and he told me about this video. it looks really fun. we r sure to keep all of this in mind.
Thanks for the kind words. Be sure to rate the video, especially since you like it ;-) Share the link with your friends, this video has been on TH-cam for 7 months and we don't even have 1,000 views yet! Hope your group had a great time at Sea Base, what adventure did you participate in?
thank you and great video.
Our Sea Base adventure was the Scuba live-aboard adventure on the Conch Pearl. It was a great time but no kayaking was involved in our trip. My family has kayaked around several the Keys a few years ago and our experience was great. Only problem we encountered was that we came back through the channel going against the flow of the tide; that was hard work. The folks at Sea Base should schedule you around the tides and 5.5 miles is a reasonably short trip. Hope you have a great adventure.
im going on june 18 2010, it looks like fun. Is the kayak trip hard though, lol we have to kayak 5.5 miles.
