I Interviewed 5 Maverick Founders About Self-Management
In this video I share the 5 lessons about self-management from 5 founders who have all adopted a variation of self-management to operate their companies. Self-management and self-organisation is growing in awareness as more businesses come to the realisation that a traditional top-down hierarchy is not effective to the constantly changing world we now live in.
If you’re intrigued about self-management or models of self-management such as Holacracy, Sociocracy, Teal, Horizontal or Flat hierarchies, then this video will give you the insights from founders who are living and lived the journey of adopting these practices.

Lizzie, I am also a small youtuber, and someone who has both received coaching and coached others. I loved this video! I can imagine it would be super helpful to anyone considering coaching, and wondering if it's worth it and what the value is. I also wanted to validate how a coach pressuring to start coaching right away and upselling you is icky. My favorite coach (who unfortunately passed away), never raised her prizes, gave me a genuinely good price because she wanted to work with me, and she always made me feel so loved and cared for. I feel like those are the types of coaches who truly change someone's life - not the ones who are just looking to make as much money as possible from you. Subscribed, and I look forward to more of your videos!

@@comfyera thank you for watching and so glad it resonated with your own experience of coaching. There’s SO many coaches out there promoting themselves, but it’s rare to hear from people who have been coached. As much as I would always invest in a coach, I also wish I had done my research as well. I think the more informed you can be about anything, the better experience you’ll have. Thank you for subscribing as well ☺️🙏

I admit: today, I'd go with "This isn't new" lesson, as it shows the reality of a "new system in place" that has never stop in creating values to customer. Very pragmatic and concrete! (Btw my heart resonates with lessons 4 and 5 😜😜)

All his companies are running the same way. You literally have no say in anything, you are treated like an overpaid redundancy, if you disagree or speak out you are immediately fired. I work as a subcontractor at SpaceX and all of them are paranoid of management. The bosses door maybe glass, but if you enter it, security will be called... 🤣 literally! No joke, that's real. 🤣

I think Tesla's really strict due to so many people wanting to join them, over 3 million unique people applied at Tesla in just 2021! If you suck they will remove you immediately without question as they aren't reliant on you. They want the best of the best and if you are they treat you really well and give you amazing benefits. Most employees at Tesla are millionaires but it comes at a cost. You have to work really hard and if you don't care about the mission you have a 0% chance of making it.
