Great advice! I will definitely make the lists you suggested for myself. I also agree with you about social media. I will start looking for an idea then end up getting lost and discouraged through scrolling. From now on I will try to use pictures as inspiration or things I find around the house. I know what you’re saying from my own experience. I’m now officially “in” my 60’s. I told myself while I was a stay at home mom that I would go back to art after my children were grown. Since my children moved on, I have tried many of the art media I was interested in. My favorites are pastels and oils. I’m a perfectionist so I struggle with watercolor, but I love the look of them. So, voila!! I’m following you, lol. I particularly love your whimsical style with pen and watercolor, and I also find your landscapes beautiful. My daughter is interested in watercolor, so I share certain of your videos to encourage her. She has a full time job so she doesn’t have much free time to relax and enjoy creating art. I think that’s truly the secret, being relaxed and comfortable so you can enjoy what you’re doing. Thanks again for your videos and enjoy the journey. ❤

I personally haven’t been involved with any art or junk journal challenges because I don’t like the stress factor, so I understand your decision not to do them when you have more important things to do with your time. Gnome Alone

Those are really creative. I don’t know which one I like most, the gnome in the paper bag or the teddy bear gnome. What color was used for the bear? The video lighting had a yellowish tinge to it, so it was difficult to tell. Don’t you just hate it when that happens when you’re trying to share your artwork ? I know I do. lol

I like the way you painted the blueberry gnome. It looks like lots of detail but it’s only one color. You’re doing a great job with these. 🎉🎉

The only other person I’ve seen demonstrating something similar is Sterling Edwards. He uses a two brush technique, where he keeps a short, very different brush in his left hand and switches to it to soften his watercolor strokes. Like you, he keeps it just barely damp and wipes it clean often. He mostly does watercolor abstracts in the last few years, so your demonstration shows it used in a more realistic manner. Thanks for showing this, I hadn’t considered using this technique on a landscape. 😊

Correct, you can paint into damp. It’s all about controlling your water so when you take your brush back to the damp paper the amount of water on your brush and paper match. Otherwise things happen people may not like. But I think some may say to stay clear of it for beginners because they’re still learning water control. Nice video and paintings. Way to go on your sales!!👏🏼

This was my first inktober as well and it was a great experience. I also didn't feel life-changed after completing the 31 days, but it was awesome to experience the ups and downs and now hopefully make drawing a regular part of my life routines because i certainly enjoy it. I really enjoyed your tutorial videos and definitely tried to incorporate them with (mild) success for part of the month. Also i really liked the very heavy october/halloween themes you went with for your drawings. The "official" prompts were honestly a bit rough for me at times but now i get to enjoy drawing with total freedom! How did you go about determining a subject for each day's drawing?

I’m not great at drawing & tried a stamp with an ink pad. Must you press down hard as have neck issues & when tried mine (either ink was to dry) or can’t push down hard enough. Love these lil gnomes & maybe try and practice drawing one. Great way to learn your paint characteristics!

I love landscapes also..its like the paper comes to life..ive been practicing botanicals..because i was no good...lol..it was fun tho..now im going back to landscapes..we've been painting the same amount of time..i might start a you tube channel too..i love. Watercolor its definitely been a fun journey..
