For A More Consistent Golf Swing Nail These Positions In Your Backswing
In this video, I cover some feels I have that allow me to simplify the backswing and make the downswing happen naturally.
Follow along as I hit on a key move to get the club started in the backswing, some positions to be cognizant of, and how I create a swing sequence that will allow you to react to your target and really allow you to shape shots and execute to your real potential.

I created a free Corporate Golf Guide (linked here: bit.ly/corporategolfguide) for you that will help unseasoned and beginner golfers play more confidently when they get invited to the corporate golf outing, which might be a round with your boss, a scramble for your company, or a sponsorship event with potential (or current) clients. This guide will also be helpful for you even if you are playing just for fun and want to look a bit more seasoned and professional on the course.

FOR BIRDIE GOLF
I’m Marc Campbell and I have been playing golf for over 35 years and during that time I played on scholarship for the University of Texas Arlington and subsequently competed in various professional tournaments on several tours across the United States. I also tested golf clubs for Nike when they were still manufacturing clubs.
I truly enjoy helping other players improve their games. My instruction style is to use simple language rather than confusing technical jargon to help people implement effective adjustments to their technique that results in better mechanics for improving the player's overall game (and reducing frustration).
I am not currently formally affiliated with a golf course, but I do give lessons on a case-by-case basis. If you are located in the DFW area and are interested in in-person lessons, or if you are not in DFW and are interested in virtual lessons, please contact me at forbirdiegolfer@gmail.com.

How To Lower Your Golf Score By Mastering The Pitch Shot
มุมมอง 297วันที่ผ่านมา
In this video, I discuss some ways to make good contact with your pitch shots. Making good and consistent contact with the ball is imperative for consistent pitch shots. Here is how I do it: I cover the stance and club I use with details on ball position and shaft position at set-up. From there, I cover the one piece take away and hinge of the wrists keeping the club on a shallow plane which al...

How To Hit A Flop Shot Out Of Thick Rough
มุมมอง 18414 วันที่ผ่านมา
This video will show you how to hit a flop shot out of thick rough. When the grass is tall, the club face tends to close or shut down through impact. The reason for this is the taller grass grabs the club and slows it down which can cause miss hits and cause you to be offline with your shot. Some key things to focus on are using a lob wedge (58-60 degree) and set the wrist early on the back swi...

How To Hit One Of The Hardest Shots In Golf (The Long Bunker Shot)
มุมมอง 13221 วันที่ผ่านมา
In this video, I cover the long bunker shot around the green. This can be one of the hardest shots in golf because they are less common, and you have to adjust your technique compared to a greenside bunker shot in order to make good contact. A few key things to execute would be to use a lower lofted club like a gap wedge (50-52 degree) or pitching wedge (46-48 degree). The reason for this is th...
How To Repair A Ball Mark Properly (Without Killing The Green)

In this video, I cover how to properly repair a ball mark on the green. Often times, you will see a bunch of circular dead spots on the green and that is due to people repairing their ball marks incorrectly. I always mark with a tee which is very common even at golf clubs. Just being aware when walking up you are in a line and asking which side to mark it should be enough regardless of your ball amrker. Rules state you can mark with whatever you want it is on the other player to ask for it to be moved.

    • @forbirdiegolf
      @forbirdiegolf หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, if you use a coin you can eliminate having to ask which side to mark it (which could be multiple times a hole and it creates a problem all day). I am not saying this is a rule (it's good etiquette), I am saying my recommendation is far more convenient and prevents your playing partners from having to suffer in silence.

  • @TheHollomap
    @TheHollomap หลายเดือนก่อน

    Or asking before you mark should I mark it left or right side. If you are playing with someone who puts up that much of a stink and it is not a tournament they are just probably having a bad round.

    • @forbirdiegolf
      @forbirdiegolf หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TheHollomap haha love it. But why go through the effort? For me, I like to mark my ball and chill vs having to always ask if my tee or whatever is in the way. You may have to ask 18 times lol, why do that?

    • @forbirdiegolf
      @forbirdiegolf หลายเดือนก่อน

      @treybadd you could, but they usually have a spike or tip that makes it more challenging to place and pick back up for those that use a line on their ball to line up to the hole/desired target line. A coin (whether it be currency or what I use in this video, a marking coin with a logo) allows for easier placement/pick-up, especially when multiple adjustments to the line are needed. 👍

      Absolutely, I go over spine tilt and more details on set-up in some of my other videos. For me, a good check is to stand straight up, bend at the hips until you feel a slight pull in the hamstrings, and then from there a slight bend in the knees. The spine piece takes care of itself. You will be in a good tilt for your height etc... Hope that makes sense.

      Not sure what pro swings you are watching, but here is another video to watch th-cam.com/video/P9yUyiDgyWc/w-d-xo.html He is pretty good and says the same thing using a shaft extension and pencil. Notice how it gives him the feel to use his hips and body correctly through impact. I agree, it is really challenging to make that move if you are used to flipping at the ball. Seems impossible really. It really won't hit your belly if you clear properly in your swing. I can see it grazing your backside with a faster swing, but that is your backside not your belly. Cheers.

    • @forbirdiegolf
      @forbirdiegolf 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @YoungDisciple90 Great question. For pitches/chips, I always try to hit the ground the ball sits on, or ball and ground at the same time. That will give you solid contact and prevents fat/chunky shots and the thin shots. With irons, I like to say, hit the little ball then the big ball or golf ball before turf/earth. Your divot with irons starts at the ball and goes forward not before the ball which produces (fat/chunky shots). Hope that helps!

      Yeah, golf can get you tongue-tied for sure. But a rose by any other name...so, shetup or setup...no matter how you say it, you will get good results if you pay attention to your magic elbow!

    Would you explain how you hinge up to the top of your swing

    • @forbirdiegolf
      @forbirdiegolf 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From the position shown halfway back, my thought process and feel is to allow the club to lead the way to the top. Everything else follows. Another way or feel would be to get to the position shown in the thumbnail and then from there feel like you are sticking your thumbs in your right ear =-), seriously. Would it help if I made a video with a driver and the hinge Keep in mind, some players are late with their hinge and others are early club setters.
