It supports something God has been showing me regarding my life and Him working in it in more ways than brain has been able to grasp and truly process. Your comments are so true and it's exciting to consider! I dont always have time to watch TH-cam but please know that I really enjoy your channel and personality - one day we will chat, maybe not until heaven but boy, we seem a lot alike, so many similar things we are processing and ways we're processing it through God's guidance. The problem is that Christ’s body who speak in tongues use it to beat down and denigrate those of his body who don’t. Yes. You do. I’ve seen it all my life. Do you think that builds up the church? We’re never quite good enough, right? We have to REALLY want it. We have to REALLY believe it. We have to overcome our SELVES. Because people who speak in tongues are able to judge those of us who don’t, right? You know our motives, where we’re “not quite as holy” as you, right? We haven’t really “let go”. We haven’t truly “surrendered”. We haven’t “developed” enough spiritually. It’s inconceivable that if we ask God to speak in tongues that he may say no. We just need to be-not like Jesus-but more like you! - You are tearing the body of Christ apart, just as the whips did 2,000 years ago. - Like the Pharisees, you cannot conceive of the fact that you are ignorant and wrong; because you’re too self-righteous. Also like the Pharisees, you don’t even know the very scripture that you use to justify your crusade against the poor in spirit. Because if you did, you wouldn’t do it. You put heavy loads on our backs, all because you got a FREE GIFT from God!! How can you read 1 Cor Ch 12-14 and not understand? How?? I would rather truly understand God’s Word than to have all the gifts of the spirit. (There are others, by the way. But no one judges people for not being a prophet, right? Or not being an apostle? Peter never said if you REALLY want to be an apostle, and truly repent, maybe spend more time in prayer, you’ll be one.) What is this elitist cadre of Christians that require all other Christians be like them??? To have exactly the same gifts?? Shouldn’t you repent of this?? I have a feeling there will be many “super-Christians” who speak in tongues now that will be ashamed in the presence of Jesus that they couldn’t see that they used their God-given gift to marginalize and shame all their brothers and sisters who got different gifts, instead of just being truly thankful for it.

I do not think she is imposing anything. She even said that speaking tongues is not for everyone. I can see you are truly hurt by the church. You must forgive because bitterness will blind us. I always have to release forgiveness everytime I am thinking about someone that hurt me, whether they are from the body of Christ or not. Unforgiveness will make us focus on the certain things people try to convey and end up misinterpreting the message. Do not go this route. It will eat you up. I was bitter for 15 years and when I finally came back, the first thing that the Lord asked of me was to forgive. We cannot experience true repentance, breakthrough, freedom to worship with unforgiveness in our hearts. Jesus only said to forgive your brother or sister. There was no limits to forgiveness or exclusions when not to forgive. I hope you release those who offended you. Pray for them instead. God bless.

@@monicabolderson4466 Thank you so much, Sister. For years, I was told if I really had the Holy Spirit I would speak in tongues. I read my Bible, prayed, fasted, served others, helped everyone who asked of me, and begged God on my knees for hours to speak in tongues. I literally have nothing else in my life now but seeking God. It’s all I do. But I’ve never spoken in tongues, and always been told something is wrong with me. So am I bitter toward God? I don’t want to be, but could you see how that would happen? Either all the folks around me were right and God won’t give me his Spirit, or everyone around me has been lying to me and making me feel spiritually worthless for decades. Can you understand that either of these options might be devastating to someone? And what am I supposed to say to the church, I forgive you for being wrong about tongues and hurting me? That’s even worse. I would lose all my fellowship. Or just say into the air “I forgive everyone”? I honestly don’t know my way out of this; it’s crushing me. Do you think, maybe, that those who speak in tongues should learn not to look down on those who don’t, and not tell them they don’t have the Holy Spirit? Even repent of it and ask forgiveness, maybe? Is that something they might just consider since they’re so holy? Does the phrase, “anyone who causes one of these little ones to sin…” come to mind? They are causing someone who Christ died for to walk away in shame and despair. He must not have chosen me, so I’m going to hell. That’s not the most uplifting feeling a Christian can have. They’re like a group of people talking about how much their dad does for them, how amazing he is, and how much they love all the things he does with them when one of the kids there is an orphan. Really? Really?? I’m just done.

@@hannahsilver1190its sad you have been badly hurt by people who supposed to help you with your walk in Christ. I must say that they are the exact people Paul was talking to in 1 Cor where tongue was used to boast as a superior gift than others but i tell you, we have different gifts for different purposes and if you don’t have the tongue then you don’t. We must remember that people in the churches are still people prone of committing mistakes and soon they will answer to God how they treated their fellow christians, as for you, there is no other thing to do than to choose to forgive them and focus your walk in God i know its very difficult to do it but you must not harbor ill feelings because it will be used against you leading to self destruction, ive been there being hurt by my church mates and finding myself despising them and the rest is history im just glad God pursued me and im back on track. @@hannahsilver1190 I will be praying for you sister. I understand. I know this is hard. The religious spirit can cause division within a congregation and it can be contagious. This can be a problem and Paul never made speaking in tongues a mandate. You can tell from the epistles not everyone in church spoke in tongues and its ok. They need to be reminded of 1 corinthians 13. Yield more to the Lord and He will give the grace to forgive. God bless you Hannah and pray you will find peace in the storm.

Tongues are a heavenly language. When I rec'd the baptism of Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, I received it like a mighty rushing wind, others receive it like a gentle dove like Y'shua did when He was baptized in water. In the Bible, Matthew 11:12 says, "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force". Praying in strong hard tongues is us taking it by force. It's warfare. It is for everyone. Everything God has for us is for everyone. The Word does not tell us it is for only a select few. Please don't say that it is wrong to teach that is error. It will give people an excuse to say that's why I don't get tongues because I've not been selected. According to Romans 8:26, the Bible says that the Holy Spirit helps people pray even when they don't know how.
