i almost can smell the 90s pc parts, when i see the loading screen
I remember this being the first NFS game I saw in high resolution. I had just gotten a VooDoo3 card in my PC and was able to run the PC version at 1024x768 at pretty high frames for the time. The first NFS I played was the og Road & Track Presents: The Need For Speed on my Panasonic 3D0, when it was exclusive to the system lol. It was the first racing game that felt REAL. The cars had understeer and you had to slow down instead of just using reflexes like everything else that came before. The traffic and police, hell the cars flying through the air when they crashed! It sure was something back then...
LOVE the video! My favourite PS1 game! Subbed!
How do you get the game so smooth in the emulator?
emulation tips comes with the mod readme file
Thank you for what you're doing!
It's a real shame Veg abandoned his modern patch for NFS4.
well, these things consume your time like hell
I just wished the onboard dashboard were available for the PSX version
And also the PC version to PS1.
Hank Hill turned out to be a good narrator, who would've thought )))
Wouldn't it be cool if the other Need for Speed games had improved mods, such as an SE version of the first and second game, and a better playing and far less broken Porsche Unleashed?
Great mod ngl🔥
What a rabbit hole to dive into... 🤯 The voice narration could also be taken directly from an episode of Motor Week ^^
i remember the secret hot rod car and instead of the horn, the horn sound effect was replaced with a vocal sound effect of a big black guy with a deep voice saying "Oh yeah!"
High Stakes is my favourite NFS by a long shot since playing from the very first NFS. It's amazing to see this level of work put into the game. Bravo 🎉👏
Wasnt hesoyam an age if empires cheat ? I remember that word from somewhere
Someone become a low level computer engineer initially aiming at just adding cars to PS1 versions. Holy hell. This is dedication :D
It’s great that someone does things like this
12:52 Good one.
11:58 This looks so cursed, it's like a scrapped port of Need for Speed Underground for the PS1
Subtitles : High Quality 350Z engine sounds, *i would like to disagree*
2:26 aren't those differences attributable to the subtle difference in aspect ratio between PAL and NTSC?
even with aspect ratio difference, you can notice that the 3D car closes "Mercedes-Benz" text on background
@hprcycl right, my point is they probably made subtle UI changes as part of the European localization
1 question can it run on a psvita
with PS1 emulation
@ I already found out you can It was a bitch to install but it works
But hey I’m worlds first on putting nfs complete edition on a psvita
Can you elaborate, maybe share a file?
@ Get the iso of high stakes Put the mod on Use a psx to psp converter Than put the game in this folder Ux0/pspemu/psp/game/****
Even though there is a PC version of this, I'd still love to see the PSX version ported to PC
Hope that some day create a PC mod that includes PS1 HUD and physics, lore friendly low poly cars
I remember people had ported some of the PS1 cars to PC back in the day, I have no idea how they did it though
3:53 first appearance of the Skyline R34 in the series lmaooo
Mr Richard it's nice to see you there.
This mod is a 10/10 upgrade to the game. I didn’t even know there were multiple tachometers. I’d say this would make it in some ways better than the pc version but missing out on the longer career is sad. We can only imagine how incredible a modern version of this could be with hundreds of cars with their own events. Something like this for the Ps1 PorscheU would finally make it worth playing but it would have to change the horrible steering. Only thing missed out on was upgrades to every car like the Caprice that are hidden in the files and letting it drive in normal races.
The realistic car-specific tachs was one of my favourite details of the game on PSX, along with manually controlled turn signals and headlights, and how suspension damage would result in the car bottoming out and sparking. It was so far ahead of its time in LOD.
If someone decompiles both this game and Gran Turismo i can imagine the GT2 cars on High Stakes engine. It would be sweet,
This is very interesting and thank you for doing this. I've played the complete edition multiple times and its very nostalgic. Even though I started with the ms-dos version of NFS 94 I still find that out of the 5 classic NFS, the fourth has the most complete NFS experience. Its the reason why I'm gonna make an open source freeware racing game. It inspires me a lot this game.
Lately im playing nothing but PSX nfs games and Colin Mcrae 2.0, theres something still so great about the handling in these old games that were trying for fun "realism" before the sim racers dominated the realism market
love this content, pls make more, i subbed.
13:39 Crossover GTA San Andreas "hesoyam"
I used to love playing with Ryuji Kainoh's mods for NFS3 adn NFS4... Sadly he disappeared from the internet and a lot of the cars he made can't really be found anywhere anymore. There was a rumor that he was actually a Polyphony employee and that the reason he stopped doing cars for Need for Speed is because they found out and it was considered a conflict of interest of some sort. What's wild is if you take some of his cars and look at the textures, it kind of bares out? I remember looking at the textures for his MR2 Spyder and being surprised that they look REALLY close to the ones from Gran Turismo 2.
The guy talking sounds like he'll tell me lore about any car if I press O Edit: I just saw the rest of the video and, you won't believe this...
Just discovered new video. You're still working on new version of the mod with multilanguage? Happy New Year hypercycle
I've done some additional research about the tracks for videos, but there is nothing to announce
@@hprcycl thanks anyway
I never personally grew up on the PS1-Era NFS but i played some over the years and quite enjoyed them. I'm glad that this mod exists.
This is such a trip to see
u left out tha PC versions of NFS III and High Stakes and only focused on tha PS1 version... great video tho but i would be curious how it would work on tha PC versions lol
PC and PS1 versions have a lot of game engine differences
@@hprcycl ah i see
The Taikenban is literally 体験版 which mean trial version ofc
WOW! So this mobile version UG2 is a PS1-NFS iteration. Hope the communtiy can build an classic feeling NFS base on it.
Not bad for a mobile game, it's definitely a better graphic than PS1 especially that draw distance
Better than Need for Speed Carbon - Own the City, on Zeebo
2:33 cars maybe were too much into the car make logo
this is amazing to see. Some edits to the tracks are actually quite good and fit well
youtube is retarded. I disabled the "show captions always" and now its bombing me with its typooverloaded captions, like a 4 year old toddler.
...damn I hate it when I have to give "feedback" to youtube devs under a completely random video. Ruins the whole experience. Now I'm frsutrated because of the platform and unable to focus on the video...
This is insane! I swear I see some resemblance to the hollywood track in some places, the black background in the highways, I was waiting for the dinosaur even. Also, it's nice to see that the 350z had the same engine sound of the official release.
As someone, who grew replaying NFS 3/4 as crazy when young... this feels more like fever dream than a game. Everything is similiar, yet somehow different.
I had a dream of a GTA 5 port for the PS2 recently. This being somewhat of a NFSU2 port for the PS1 is really similar in nature.
There's a project being made that managed to incorporate many GTA V features on the San Andreas Engine called GTA V legacy
Glad to see it running even if its quite gutted.
Weird to see the reservatory being transformed into a casino 5:03.
What does this use for rendering?
Thanks for this video sharing all the details!! Is it possible for the hot pursuit mode to allow / mod more than 1 police car as backup when playing as police?
maybe, I've never looked for it
Finally got some time to watch the video. Gotta say, the developers did a good enough job at converting the tracks to Underground universe.
Very interesting video. I never knew about this version of the game.
