Found this video by accident. As I drink that beer day 20 of the Advent calendar and I’ve only had 1 beer that I didn’t like. I’d agree that Steinbier is an amber that is well executed, albeit a bit lighter than I’d expect from that style.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, these brewer's advent calendars have been mostly great German beer. The Steinbier is good for an amber, we just don't care for most ambers. There's a beer in Arkansas callled Razorback Red that is an amber we enjoyed. Has a bit of chocolate added to it, though it's not a chocoate brew at all.
@@freebeerwithcharlie5114 here in Ohio we have a really good amber from Great Lakes Brewing called Eliot Ness it’s quite good .
@@freebeerwithcharlie5114 as for the calendar I’ve enjoyed it so far, only one beer that I didn’t like that was the Weizenbock Hell didn’t care for the sour finish.
Never heard of Great Lakes Brewing, we'll check them out. No matter how hard we try, we'll never get to try them all. We are over 700 beers sampled!

Yeah, there's not a huge difference between these as fas as wow factor or anything unique. Really they've just been good traditional beers.

The shilling tax system is scottish. The higher the strength, the higher tax 60 shilling is known as light (3 - 3.5%) Black in colour 70 shilling is known as heavy (4 -4.5%) red/brown in colour 80 shilling is known as export (5 -5.5%) brown in colour 90 shilling is known as a wee heavy (6.5% and above) dark brown in colour

We drink a lot of this beer in Vietnam. And we drink it over ice. Understandably, when ordered in a dining establishment, they bring you a case and count how many are left before bringing the check.
