Paying 180 for that little Bugout knife is no different than paying 180 for a pair of shoes just because they have a swoosh on the side of them. You can go out and buy 2 or 3 knives with similar build quality just like you could go out and buy 2 or 3 pairs of shoes with similar comfort and quality. It's all about the LOGO. THE FANBOYS WANT THE BUTTERFLY!!

Well this aged poorly considering the current prices for Spyderco knives (Nov 2024)

Kizer Original XL snowflake, titanium handle and s35vn blade, is cheaper than the base model Bugout.

One thing they missed that woulda made this kn8fe perfect was the finger choil for a perfect grip.

i have same problem with the smf handle, the edge does dig into the hand making it uncomfortable, otherwise awesome knife

Im no fan of benchmade. To many plastic handels and very hight prices . The narrows is a beautiful knife thou their asking price is insane . The new bugout with bronze color aluminum scales at 288. Their shootout is ugly and a plastic handels in the neighborhood of 300 . American made kershaws are a much better bet and affordable and hight quality

Im in Canada, and I just got a mini-griptilian 556. I do like it, i bought it because i see it as a platform to build on. But at $179.99, it hurt. Once im done with all the extra goodys, I'll be looking at around a $350-$400 tiny knife. But iv always wanted one, It still holds a sort of you made it status. Although when i get my government taxs back in 15 days, im geting a spyderco manix 2 or manix xl they are $209 and $280 for a daily hard use knife, will probably upgrade the cage, ball, spring, maybe the scales but i do like the g10 it comes with, it feels good, but maybe some awt scales. Canadain knife prices are harsh, even my beloved esee knifes are pricey here. A candiru is running $100+ a izula is $130+ throw some scales on em and your pushing $200 easy. Bps knifes are still cheap here. Got a adventurer for $89 and its a dam fine knife, even feels better then my esee 4 and that dam thing was close to $300. Ether way got one benchmade it that itch is now scratched, on to spydero for folders. Just better value for your buck up here. Good video sir.

Benchmade is not an enthusiasts brand. Anyone qho knows anything about knives tends to hate them. Overpriced garbage that never changes or evolves. Use something other than s30v!!! Plastic scales?? Garbage.

Benchmade scales: Made in America. Flytanium scales: Made in China. Numbered 1000 piece limited. Every single one of them has been sold.

I bought a second hand Anthem for $200 bucks less and to me it was worth it (as a collector) but to the average person I overpaid and financially i agree with the average person.

I’ve been carrying a Benchmade 585 barrage for over a decade. Really high quality knife. Back then I think I paid $139. Well worth the premium. The price now is nearly $190. I recently got a 50% discount on Benchmade products from a local Cabelas. I ended up with a 940. I love the knife. For the price I purchased it ($108.00) , it was a worth every penny. Couldn’t imagine paying the standard $216.00 on it for what it is, though.

China will soon focus on the mid-end range of knives and make near perfect fakes with better blade steel like D2 (which they already make a lot of knives in) and sell the fakes like the Bugout for $50 and people will need microscopes and lab testing to tell the difference between them and the real thing. Sorry Benchmade but I have NO LOYALTY to you after what you did regarding the 2nd Amendment. 😡

Too much $$$. The Chinese are gonna eat Benchmade’s lunch. When the Chinese can make knockoffs that come within 98% of the real thing for $20 and STILL make a profit… Benchmade’s goose is cooked! Just raising prices is a stupid strategy on their part. 🙄

The company is not gonna respond to your videos or anyone else’s on Instagram, Instagram or here. They will simply respond to what people pay. If there’s a willingness to pay, then their price is right. If it’s too high, they’ll discount it as happened with the Narrows on GP knives. That’s the way the market works. They honestly don’t care. Nor do they need to. What do you think or what I think doesn’t matter at all it’s what the market will bear.

Heat treat should be priority on every knife. It's how cold steel made better knives when they used dog 💩 steel. And there was cts-xhp with a perfect heat treat, phenomenal

I sure hope so, their knives are junk, flimsy, uglier by the day. They had better looking stuff before the bugout existed. I'm fact the knife it replaced was far superior i owned one.

The Kershaw cqc7 has a Rockwell hardness of about 40. And it’s not chisel grind. Heavy and mostly junk

I spent $309 on a Biblio Bronze, blade is not centered, favors the show side, maybe a bit less than your sample, it doesn't bother me much but I agree that they should do bette for the asking price. Given that it is bronze and pretty sure it runs on bearings, there's literally no room to adjust the pivot. My Para 3 LW was half the price, is centered, and no liner lock will ever beat the compression lock on these bad boys. I think Spyderco are safe. No matter how much I want to like Giantmouse they have some catching up to do...
