50 degree day in November, one of the last opportunities to do some jamming outdoors! This is the "Grand Basin" in St. Louis' Forest Park, the location of the 1904 World's Fair. On a sunny summer day there are people everywhere but on this day, a chilly November morning, not so much! I've been testing this set up as a possible travel/location rig. NiftyKEYZ & Moog Mother32 First Time Start U
My least favourite Moog products. Im not a fan of any of these modules and have 8 of the damn things. The Subharmonicon is particularly useless. Trying to sell them but no one wants them. Understandable
Mint!.. love it
Power from usb go to 220 adapter? arturia.
Very nice. I could listen to this all day.
It's really good!
It's not bad but not good for me - nice gear!
Thanks you 🙌
Very nice.
Thank you for listening - really appreciate it!
Nimble AF 😂
As simple as usb from power brick to microfreak?
sounds great!
I prefer your version to the original. It’s beautiful!
Lovely. Brings out the best of that moog sound ❤️
Nett 👍
Applause!!!
awesome!
Nive to see the keys being played for a change. Lovely tone.
sick playing abilities
This is so beautiful. Thanks Jim for the moment of peace.
Very nice. Thank you.
Beautiful!!!
i like that 🥰
Just started listening and I like it so far 👏🏼
Thanks Joe! Great to hear from you!
@@JimHegartyMusicalways a pleasure 🎉
Meraviglia il Moog Mother 32
I really have been going back and forth between this and the subsequent 37. I'm making a psychadelic/prog album and the VST's just don't cut it. Moog synths sound massive. Only problem is, every damn video is another arp sequence and nobody is actually playing a keyboard. This is what I needed to hear. Someone playing a lead melody and not a 15 minute video of the same sequence repeating over and over and over with the filter getting tweaked. So thank you.
Hi @lycosa2000! Glad this was helpful. A friend of mine has the Subsequent 37. I haven't played it but what he gets out of it sounds really rich and big and impressive. I like the Mother a lot and think for the money it is an incredible synth but with only one oscillator there are things it just can't do that might be useful to you like detuning or octaves/5ths. But for really soaring leads and bass the Moog sound is perfect and the Mother can do that really well.
Is this melody a personal composition?
Hi @toubaboo. This is just a jam, an improvisation so it was something that I just came up with spontaneously. Thank you for checking out the video! All the best to you!
@@JimHegartyMusic i love it! I began to learn it!
I love to see just one synth as I know exactly then where the sound is coming from. The humble keystep can do a lot. Really nice playing. The Moog Mother has a wonderful sound is beautifully made and a joy to use. I wish someone would write a book on the sequencer alone.
I agree, the sequencer is still something I scratch my head over. I've read the manual probably 10 times but then when I come back a month later, I've forgotten how it works. LOL. Thanks for writing!
Lovely!
Hi @JohnLRice - thank you very much! Al the best to you!
So refreshing to see something other than a standard 4-to the floor beat. Good showcase of slides and accents too!👍👍
Hi @Gunnarvestlund2729 - Thank you for listening, I keep trying to find new things to do with this set up and it is always a lot of fun. The Moog Mother is a fantastic synth!
Is that delay coming from the key step?
The delay is in the computer. It is Native Instruments Replika. It's part of the basic Kontakt package and I like it and use it alot. Thank you for writing!
@@JimHegartyMusic thanks for the response! Wonderful video btw!
Can I use 1-8 Tape Returns to insert FX somehow?
Hmmm. interesting idea! Maybe with a Y-cord or a second small mixer to combine signals? The Soundcraft isn't mine, it's at the school where I teach so I'm not deeply familiar with it and it has several broken channels. Sorry I can't be more help. Thank you for being in touch, though.
The Tape Returns are not inserts. however you can "send" audio from either one of the group outputs, or AUX, to your FX, and "return" on a tape return
Excellent work!! I have the Breathe reverb on my prologue and it's super nice. Keep it up!
Hi @mwmusic29 - thanks for listening and yes, that set of plugins from @hammondeggsmusic is fantastic! Best wishes to you!
@@JimHegartyMusic Thanks, and likewise!
I am glad I found this. this i. I love it
Hi @KSBALADZE - thank you very much! Your comments are encouraging. I hope to do more chamber pieces but finding a way to have them performed with real instruments is really hard. All the best to you!
My exact set up for the mother 32!❤
Hi @TheEpiphonesheraton2 - it's a great combo - portable, sounds awesome, and with the sequencer and arp in the KeyStep there are lots of options. Thanks for writing!
Really appreciate your majestic music, beautiful work.
Hi @DavidDigark - thank you very much for the kind words. It's really helpful! All the best to you!
"I want to play like Vangelis, but I don't have either a Hydrasynth nor my medication".. Love your enthusiasm, though. (That's what keeps me going)
Hi @ATJ-sTAt - I agree, hard to feel like what I do approaches the great stuff of the masters. But just sitting and playing that little Moog is so much fun, that's worth something in itself, I think. Thank you for listening! All the best to you!
❣
Hi @mkem_nv - thank you so much for your comment! Very encouraging!
hello, how do you use the inserts send like post eq?
Awesome... Just SOVIETICO...!!
Als System kenne ich es gar nicht. Interessant.
Great.
those are the fingers of a jazz pianist or something... great demo of the Mother!! Loved it.
Hi @Sreesharma, yes, I do play jazz piano, avant-garde stuff. So you are right! Thanks for writing!
Beautiful piece! Lovely listening to this late at night. Nice art too. Reminds me of the painter Motherwell.
This is amazing!
Sounds like a Bladerunner track, well done
Can someone kindly explain the inter-relationship of these two instruments? What is doing WHAT with WHAT??
Hi @BJ-fj6jw all the sounds are coming from the Moog. There is some delay or reverb in the computer. The KeyStep doesn't make any sound. It is just a controller that sends out voltages that make the Moog play a note and change pitch.
You got caught up in a « Bitches Brew » /« Crossings » Herbie vibe here. Rhodes and Ring Mod sound superb together. Thanks for sharing.
Hi @noizreduxion2888 - exactly, my kind of stuff! Thanks for writing and all the best to you and your music!
Un vrai professeur !
beautiful
Hi @werdjones - thank you very much! Really appreciate it!
Lovely work on this Jim !
Hi @garaughty - thank you very much, I really enjoy playing the Moog! All the best to you!
