😊
Thank you for this. We will be there 1 week of December so this will help us plan.
Thanks for the comment !! Happy to help others out. Have fun on your trip !!
@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains your welcome and we really hope to. Its been 4 years since our last visit!
@@FisherFunventuresthere has been alot of changes in the area. Since then. Alot of new attractions have been built.
@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains that's awesome can;t wait. Do you know anything about Tree Tops Resort that's where we are staying?
@FisherFunventures I have never been there. But if it is the place I think it is. It is close to the entrance of roaring fork. Good location.
My mother had a lot of kitschy salt and pepper shakers.
We have had very good luck recently spotting bears on Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. I think often people wait for a Bear Jam to look for them like in Cades Cove. We have spotted them down below on some of the steep drop offs, up in the trees and a week ago we had a male walk across the road in front of us just past the Ogle place. Early morning before it gets too busy gives us the best luck.
Thanks for sharing the information. Its always helpful learning new things from my viewers.
choose a motel that has dedicated numbered parkiing spaces for you. so you can come and go as you want at all hours
Thanks for that advice! I believe Margaritaville might do that, does anyone else’s know other hotels?

Great video. Will be driving this route next week.
Hope you enjoy it! It will be amazing with all the colors!
Another fantastically helpful and informative video, thank you, not sure I'm brave enough for the Elvis burger that's for sure!!! Local Goat is definitley on our list of places to eat when we visit next year, I think we'll try to make a reservation though!
Thanks! Let us know how it goes. Though the Elvis was tasty, it might not be for everyone!
This is a great, clear, relaxing, beautiful video with very helpful information throughout. I am shocked that there aren't more views and comments. Great job! 👍 Thank you for sharing this video. 🐻
Thank you! I’m still considered a newbie in the TH-cam world, but each view and each subscriber helps. The format for my videos isn’t very common so I’m swimming an up river battle. But I don’t intend to change and facts are the only thing I’m trying to push! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for the support!!
Wonderful video! 😊
Thank you very much !!
Been on this road many times, never gets old; something about that clear stream water cutting its way thru the rocks & down the mountain☺️. Great job giving folks so much useful information, especially those that do not know the area, so they can get the most out of that time that goes by so quickly there☺️. Unlike down in town, other than gas these attractions cost a family nothing but a picnic lunch; so much for so little. 🫎
Thank you for sharing your experiences! And at least there is a gas station to get that gas right before you enter!
@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains ☺️
For those of us who just want to virtually take in this place we love, with as much useful information & fun facts available, your channel is a great option. I hope your channel grows to wherever you would like it to be🙏🏻. The # of Smoky Mountain TH-camrs seems to be growing rapidly?! Some of them, to my eye, just want to exploit this wonderful place. They try & make little celebrities out of themselves by having their face in the camera much of the time. And then, some of them absolutely tarnish the integrity & image of The Smokies, exploiting the many good hearted tourists to pay for their lazy life on perpetual vacation!! We learned some hard lessons with the likes of them; that is why we are here☺️!! And don’t get me wrong, I think you should earn all the ad revenue your content can bring; & I like your content, much more, how it is done. And FYI, I believe TH-camrs, unable to film in the park, has been largely debunked by park personnel. That part of park code was mostly used, in ignorance, for big & controversial views??!! So, be well Bear Facts lady, we wish you the best🙏🏻☺️!!!
Well said, I totally agree. Very Refreshing to see the National Park and other areas the stars of the Video, rather than the “ Creator”
Thank you for those words! Other TH-camrs are not kidding when they say making videos is labor intensive, but I enjoy creating the videos and making something that will be informative and fun. I won’t lie, I personally don’t watch videos where the content creators show themselves a lot. It’s just not a format I like. So thank you for your support and helping this channel grow.
@@derekk6906Amen!!! 🫎
@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountainswhat you do, & the way you do it is labor intensive; getting all of the right footage, doing real research to give people useful information & then piecing it together in a polished fashion takes skill & effort. Putting your phone on a stick, turning it to video & babbling while you walk thru town, coaxing superchats out of folks, does not!! Enough negative, you understand. The point is you are a nice, clean alternative to that & we wish you success. Your content should play well with viewers & I truly hope it does. So many trying to cash in on the huge tourist #s?? I hope you find & keep a following. I hear it is 500 subscribers & a certain accumulation of views allows you to monetize; you go make the money you deserve for your efforts Miss Bear Facts Lady🙏🏻☺️. 🫎
Just got back from my first cabin trip in Gatlinburg. First off, the roads leading up to the cabin were unexpected, and scary as f*ck! Not the roads leading in, but up to the cabin. Canceled anything I wanted to do at night for fear of driving back up to the place. Second, the cabin we rented was not as advertised and need serious work, so be careful when booking. Third, the area is nothing more than a tourist trap, so maybe find things to do on the outskirts or something. Bears are a pain in the ass, so don’t leave ANY food in your cars and LOCK the doors, they know how to open them. Very pretty in areas, but just wasn’t my cup of tea, I left nothing behind that I need to return for.
SkyFly. kinda short ride....but very FUN !
More great content, thank you as always. I think we'll use the trolly even though we will have a car, if for no other reason but a bit of free sight seeing!
Thank you! Sometimes it’s just fun experiencing a place in a new way!
This is VERY helpful...I was surprised by all the travel blogs not really mentioning the trolleys. I had heard about it from Everything Auto's vlog and now yours.
Hope it was helpful! Thanks!
Turtle?
Yep. Turtle. The traffic is that bad during the holidays. Lol
Can I use a cushy on the trolley? 🚎
That might be a good idea if you are going to be on it a while! The only downside to bringing one is you have to drag on around when you’re not on the trolley!
I've been to the area once - in December 2024 - and had a car so I never used the Trolley. I'm going again this October, again with a car, but I might try the Trolley - I usually love this type of transportation. Your video is really helpful.
Thank you! I tried thinking of all the questions I had the first time I tried it. Hope the video wasn’t too long. Keep thinking of more things as I was writing the script. Ugh! Have fun!
@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains I might have been a little long but I watched all of it. I love your bear friend.
I know. I ride the bus basically everywhere here in NYLI!
Thankfully the Trolleys are way more simple than the city!
Agree on the food, geez they got a million pancakes , burgers and pizza places, and coming from Chicago I was expecting Tennessee BBQ to be great but it was mid and I visited the hyped places.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Bbq is always a tricky one! I would love to do a video on it someday, but our experiences have been similar. We will keep looking and maybe get a few to share someday!
You do a really good job of providing a lot of interesting information about your video subject; a refreshing change from a few channels who put their face in the screen; & reveal in their ramblings they have done very little research in their quest for celebrity status!! Hoping your channel continues to grow☺️. Suggestion, perhaps especially appropriate considering your channel’s title. There is an urgent need to inform & educate folks about the growing # of bear incidents in Gatlinburg. Things have escalated due to ignorance & exploitation. There are stories, & sub stories, regarding this issue of concern that need to be told constructively & are guaranteed to generate views because people are very interested. You would do that very well in contrast to those who have exploited the issue!! Best wishes to you🙏🏻!! 🫎
Thank for all that! And I appreciate the suggestion. I totally agree with the bear situation and want to cover it. Especially as there are more and more incidents with people and bear interactions. And I don’t plan on showing anyone’s face but Oliver the Bear. He’s way cuter than me anyway!
@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains they have built so much lodging in that relatively small town that there are just too many people in an area, too small for those #s. Rather they are feeding them directly from their room balconies, or indirectly from the dumpsters busting at the seams with trash, the bears are coming in to us humans for food!! That is just a reality. Then they allow places like Annakeesta to put the food services up top, in the bears back yard. I understand at least 2 bears have been put down up there & others are walking right thru the crowded streets; only a matter of time before an attack occurs. On his own video, one of the most notable Gatlinburg TH-camrs, who I will not dignify by mentioning his name, was bluff charged by a bear, behind the apartment he lives in where someone had thrown apples out to feed the bears!! On top of the crowds you have locals doing that for views; pathetic!! A story done the right way will be very effective!! Be well!🫎
I came across this Mill on my way from Gatlinburg to Atlanta in December. Not worth a special trip, but well worth seeing if you're driving that route.
Yea, unless you’re taking a hike, camping in the area or just passing though, it won’t make much sense for the average person to drive all that way. Thanks for the input!
Thanks for letting us know. There were signs up that said $24.99 at one point, but we will take cheaper any day!!!
My 2024 souvenir cup was $15.99 for free refills all season. I think the $24.99 price you mentioned is for two cups, not one. All in all, for annual pass holders it’s a great deal.
When did the trolleys become free? Also, you can take the bypass to get to Pigeon Forge if you stay closer to the park side, and you don’t have to drive through downtown Gatlinburg.
Only Gatlinburg is free. I didn’t see anything in my searches about when they started offering them for free. Good question!. Pigeon forge has a cost!!!
I like going there but alitte pricey, but good food only negative I had was only 2 refills allowed
Thank you for letting us know. I admit I never get a drink there. So that’s good to know!
We love Dollywood’s Halloween LumiNights, we believe it is very well done!! Disney does things very well but, as you said, the costs have made it too expensive for many families. And Disney does not have The Great Smoky Mountains, the most visited National Park every year that brings 12 - 14 million folks there; many of which go to Dollywood. And the park cost folks no fee to enter the park. Coming back this fall to see the Halloween & Christmas in Dollywood; cannot wait☺️. 🫎
Thank you for sharing! $200 a ticket for Disney in October is crazy expensive!! Both are nice, but Dollywood also does a better job decorating. Can’t wait to see Dolly in the fall again. Have a wonderful trip
I have been to Disney (FL and CA) for Halloween and I've worked the Halloween event at Universal Hollywood for years. I'm visiting Dollywood for their Fall Festival for the first time this year. I'm disappointed Dollywood is closed on Halloween.
I’m sure you will have a wonderful time! Does suck about Halloween. It would be a great place for tourist with kids. Thank you for sharing.
Nice video 😊😊
Thanks so much !!
We are coming the first week of Dec and have booked The Tree Top Resort. Can you tell us about it. Great videos. Thank you.
December is a fantastic time to see the city! I have not been to this resort, but maybe one of the other views have and might be able to share? Please let us know about your experience! I’m always looking for new content ideas!!
@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains will do I will send you a link when I get a video edited. Love that time is good, also how crowded is it at that time/ Thanks again.
It is very busy. That tine of the year.
@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains oh ok ha thanks for heads up
Wow, thank you for sharing!
We love Park Grill. We had our wedding dinner there 5 years ago, Park Grill was fantastic for everyone, they had a table decorated for us and even brought a small wedding cake for us to enjoy after dinner. Wonderful
Being a biker or walker, parking may not be an issue. I’ll use the trolley if need be.
By far the best way to see the city, and with traffic might be quicker to walk or bike! Thanks for sharing!
Well said!
The best way to view Gatlinburg is as one big state fair. The food is greasy and expensive, the crowds and lines are long, and the sanitation could be iffy, but if you want healthy foods to eat take the drive into the mountains with a picknick basket and enjoy the views and watch out for bears.
I lived in Michigan for 50 years. Up there out in the country, you cant avoid seeing deer on the back roads. Now I live in Oak Ridge and when I go to Cades Cove, I can't help but laugh at the vehicles I see with Michigan plates stopping to gaze at the deer like it's the first time they have ever seen one
OMG! I’m from up north and our insurance is so high because of deer. Yet I’m still stopping and looking. I just think it’s something about being in the Mountains!
@@bearfactsofthesmokeymountains I live near Knoxville, have little woods next to the house, and still see deer almost daily. But I agree, in the mountains you do tend to look at them differently
No. Boudicas.
Take the bypass and go around, Catlinturd SUCKs
I always enjoy your fun videos and your bear buddy. This is an attraction I will not visit.
Thanks !! I try to keep it lite and humorous.
Thanks for telling us about 2 we are not familiar with. We love the diner, good breakfast & is somewhat out of the way of the big crowds. Works well on grocery day since it is right by Publix & Kroger☺️.
Our pleasure! Hope you have a good experience if you end up going!

When driving the loop, if you want to stop and look at something, pull off the road!!! Do not block the road!!!!! It clearly states this rule on a sign at the entrance.
I truly wish people would follow those rules!! It’s very frustrating. Thank you for putting that out there!
