They are EVERY BIT OF ALL THE GOOD STUFF. BUT when they run the brain is No longer connected. They will not listen nor come back and will damned near get hit in traffic( because they will NOT LISTEN!!!!).

Mine is lazy af and aside from following me through the house she hates doing anything with me. She doesn't actually like anything enough to work. Toys, treats, play, puzzles... nope. She doesn't care about any rewards enough to be trained. She is excited when I come home, likes to give kisses and get pets. Makes good eye contact and wags her tail when I speak to her. She has decided she wants to go out the front door? No other door will do. In a standoff she's happy to make every hill the hill she dies on. I wanna go to the backyard bc I have trash to take out? For no discernable reason... She wants the front yard. I want to sit in the front of the house bc there are chairs? No. Suddenly this is unacceptable and only the backyard will please her. Ok, maybe she is stubborn bc she needs some exercise so we will go for a walk... At my suggestion she suddenly cannot wait to go inside. Nowhere else on earth is an acceptable place to be except inside. Butt- planted to the earth unless we are walking the direction she wants to go... Towards the inside! I'm tired of going up and down the stairs of my duplex just to have to bring her inside because homie ain't gonna teach her that making my life hell is an acceptable pastime.

Wee wee pads, treats, repetitively with lots of praise when they do it, and no treat or eye contact for five minutes when they don’t.......but you must be with them all the time for a few days to reinforce this. It works.

No dog belongs in a home with children (or adults) who cannot treat a dog with kindness and consistency.

I would love to get out more but I’m a stay at home mom with a 3 month newborn. Once she can eat, stand, talk and walk on her on I can do more things with my dog. My boyfriend gets home late and it’s dark and too late to do anything with the dog. Sometime I just bring the stroller and the baby along to place. I have a small car and my boyfriend dog wants to come to but both of them can’t fit in a coupe with the newborn in the back seat.

I have a Texas heeler Australian Shepard mix

Very intelligent sweet loving dogs. If you can't get them to do what you want them to do is because they are more clever then yourself. They don't loose focus when they want something and they always find a way to get it :) All three of my Spaniels were like my shadow. Very loyal and affectionate. None of them distroyed anything.

We never had to train ours. She just knew everything. Best dog we ever had. She just passed away and we are still trying to get over it.
