Thanks alot mate! Just got back now, the fishing was alright there but I didn't end up landing any keepers or kingfish . In a few days I'm leaving for 1770 and I'm hoping to do a bit pelagic fishing off the rocks Mabey!

@ 1770 is bloody awesome mate! Me dad and a few mates did a charter out of they’re, they caught heaps of rep emperors, cod and heaps of other reef fish!

​@TobysfishingNoutdoorsyeah it's great! I might be going to this place called the catwalk. It's basically a rock you can fish off on the headland and people have landed big Spanish Mackerel and tuna there.

Thanks mate! I'll try and do some pelagic fishing soon, it's just not as consistent for me. I'm in new Zealand right now so in few days I'll be going out on the boat targeting snapper and stuff. I'll make a full video about that as well!

@TobysfishingNoutdoors thanks alot! The next day I ended up catching a big catfish in the same spot and it left the same slime on my leader as the fish I lost. I don't know for sure but I can assume it was a catfish. Id like to believe it was a big flatty but I don't think I'm lucky enough for that 😂

@ do catfish live in saltwater?? Were you filming?

Yeah I'm going to upload it as a short but it was only because of the excessive rain we have been having in Queensland and the water was mostly fresh. It wasn't an eel tail catfish it was a blue catfish or something like that

Thanks mate. The rig I was using was a pretty basic hook, swivel and sinker rig. Got a heap of bites but I think they were mostly too small that day. Good luck with learning how to throw the net. Took me a few days of throwing it in the yard to get it to open properly 😂

​@@Munie6363 The rod is a diawa beefstick Z. The size I have got is 7 foot 6 to 10kg but there are many different sizes

@@TobysfishingNoutdoors yeah I believe so, I call them Moses perch but I think they are the same thing as fingermark

@@AshtonsfishingOfficial Fingermark and Mangrove Jacks are a close cousin to Moses Perch, Fingermark live much further up north, Mangrove jacks live in between southern and northern waters while Moses perch are more Southern

@@TobysfishingNoutdoors thanks man!, yeah the beefstick is going great, so far caught a mackerel and the ray and it's holding up great! I would highly recommend one especially if you are fishing for big pelagics

Thanks a lot man, I'm not too sure of the line weight because I bought the rod tip off eBay and made the handle myself but it is insanely bendy and I can wrap the tip around my finder with ease 😂 I was running 4lb like with 4lb leader and even with that it was a bit hard to cast. A tiny sinker bends the rod almost 90 degrees.
