I love the Jack Reacher books!! However this one is using AI narration and it is terrible!! Pauses in the wrong places, mispronounces a lot of words. Very hard to follow. I'm not sure I can endure the whole book like this. First AI narrated one that I've run into. Hopefully the last. If the down loads are done this way, I will never waste money to buy this book.

this book in my opinion is one of Mr. Child's weaker efforts anyway but this un-voice offends my ears. I'm glad to learn from so many commentaries that i am not alone in this. Mr Jeff Harding's voice could help this story immensely!

This patrician British accent and pronunciation is one issue, but the lack of ability to perceive punctuation is intolerable. Unfortunate.

Voice doesn’t bother me, I’m hard of hearing so the read along and the audio I really look.

Yes AI narration is annoying but it's free. Anyway, it's downright pleasant compared to listening to 2nd grade classmates read aloud when outside of school you've been reading classics.

1.25 speed sounds a lot better

Lee Childs brother writing the new books also makes them lifeless and devoid of a soul.

The synthetic voice is better than the one-cadence reader for some of the other books. I had to give up after under and hour.

So the ending is ok, but as previously mentioned by another commenter, the recording goes quiet from 6:44 to 6:46 and during that time pages 417 through to 489 are missing. 72 missing pages meant I couldn’t follow what had happened and I had to get the book out to check. He is getting off the bus at 6:44 then it goes quiet then all of a sudden at 6:46 he is in a gunfight in the middle of a storm. Apart from the missing section it was a good recording and I enjoyed it, but you would also need the book to follow the action!

Agree, stretch out timeline by 5%, it will lower the tone and slow down the story.
