The GVN is essential and critical in the preparedness, defense, and first research response to emerging, existing, and unidentified viruses that pose a clear and present threat to public health. Working in close coordination with established national and international institutions, the GVN is a coalition comprised of eminent human and animal virologists from 80+ Centers of Excellence and Affiliates in 40+ countries, working collaboratively to train the next generation, advance knowledge about how to identify and diagnose pandemic viruses, mitigate and control how such viruses spread and make us sick, as well as develop drugs, vaccines, and treatments to combat them. No single institution in the world has expertise in all viral areas other than the GVN, which brings together the finest medical virologists to leverage their individual expertise and coalesce global teams of specialists on the scientific challenges, issues, and problems posed by pandemic viruses.
GVN Forefront of Virology Webinar featuring Dr. Esteban Domingo
Title: " Quasispecies and error catastrophe: the "be or not to be" of SARS-CoV-2 genomes"
Esteban Domingo is “ad honorem” (emeritus) Professor of Research at the Spanish Research Council, at Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa, Madrid, Spain. He received a B.Sc. in Chemistry (1965) and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry (1969) from the University of Barcelona. He did postdoctoral work at the University of California (UC), Irvine, working on in vitro DNA transcription, with Dr. Robert C. Warner (1969-1973), and University of Zürich, working on genetics of bacteriophage Qβ, with Dr. Charles Weissmann (1974-1977). This work permitted the first calculation of a mutation rate for an RNA virus, and the first experimental evidence of quasispecies dynamics. His work documented the high error rates and quasispecies dynamics of animal RNA viruses and opened the way to lethal mutagenesis as an antiviral strategy. He has published 450 research papers and several books and book chapters; h index=84. He is Doctor honoris causa from the Universities of Liège and Bern, and member of EMBO, the European Academy, the US National Academy of Sciences, and Vice-president of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Spain.

whenever these people start talking about “war” and “peace” with viruses i’m always struck that viruses happen in people and that means that scientists are at war with people when they have a virus. there aren’t that many scientists to be at war with so many people. i’d prefer governments not be at war with their own people due to a virus.
Before be released from the infected cells coronaviruses catch a lipidic part of cells membrane. Maybe some crossreact IgM antibody occur, and act like cold agglutinine ?
Did we know at what tissue temperature did SARS COV2 better replicate ? Why ? Because at TWiV 659 at min29 German virologist Christian Drosten indicate that to replicate SARS COV2 must decrease tissue temperature to 34C Theoretically higher mucoseal respiratory temperature protect against SARS COV2 infection. But how can maintain higher mucoseal respiratory temperature If thermogenesis was weakened by different causes ? Maybe mask wearing also maintain higher mucoseal respiratory temperature, not only stop droplets.
At some dispneeic Covid19 patients I see that a drop of blood agglutinate on a cold glass (at room temperature) before coagulate. At that patients warmed oxigen mix (at body temperature) increased more rapidly oxigen saturation.
Cold agglutinine, cryoglobuline, IgM macroglobulinemia did explain that. Because at finger level blood temperature decrease, maybe can explain paradox of,, happy hypoxia,,
IT was in 2020 when I worked like emergency MD on Ambulance
Did IgM antinucleocapside antibody induced at some Covid19 patients low temperature agglutination ?
Maybe after SARS COV2 infection before ,,citochyn storm,, cold blood agglutination,, and capillary subobstruction was the main patogenic mecanism ?
what is it with these scumbags and their facsimation with using ecoli derived treatments. banana lectins are bad but ecoli lectins are just fine. yah! right!😉 i will be sure to pass on any treatments created from these shoddily made and produced products.
Может био оружие разберём серая слизь в США Клинтон например что только sv40?
We must reach carbon net zero by 2025😊
Thank you panelists! The H5N1 zoonotic pandemic is sad. Millions of poultry get culled. Must be heartbreaking for the farmers. Same for the dairy or cattle farmers who lose their animals to this virus.
goijng after the people’s finances. okay. try it.
you people have nothing to do with “bio security”. we don’t need you for any of that.
you won’t be mandating anything and your “moving testing” is meaningless and not followed. suck on that. you people should be absolutely stripped of any and all authority.
these people are terrorists.
I admire you all for the expertise you have & for the many years you labored very hard to acquire this expertise. 👏 Thank you for your work , and this communication through TH-cam to educate even us laypeople concerned about viruses. 🔬
Did temperature sensitive viruses induce persistent infections ? Why ? Because german virologist Christian Drosten suggest that SARS COV2 better replicate in different tissues If incubator temperature decrease to 34C -35C (at TWiV 659 at min29) Did higher mucouseal respiratory temperature protect against SARS COV2 infection ?

Wow 😲😲😲
How many people have already had an H5N1 infection in their lifetime? Is there a T Cell or antibodies test to check?
Won’t this virus mutate even faster than SARSCOV2?

well, virus present in udder and milk, inactivate and you have a vaccine?
could these H and N molecules be useful for virosome to treat breast cancer of 3 negative receptors?
udder...would drinking pasteurized milk with a high viral titer sero convert the animal that drank the inactivated virus?

Fascinating - thank you! 🏆
Thanks so much for the presentation… I find the wonderful and vital work of both Dr Sette and Dr Crotty fascinating, and nicely explained; they have helped me understand so much… and it’s clear from great channels like TWIV and others in the field , how important their work is.
So happy to see this video and channel! I’ve been a subscriber to TWIV since 2020, but wasn’t aware of GVN presence on TH-cam until today.
Better prepared is by closing all labs dealing with gain of function and stopping the ability to make certain people rich out of tragedies such as these.
The raccoon dog story ('China hid them from us!') is total conspiracy theory. They were mentioned clearly in the WHO terms of reference of Aug 20, with plenty of correct details about wildlife sales at the market. Around 30% of these dogs were caught in the wild too.
"They never talk about public health. They never talk about how to repurpose medication, how to quarantine the sick, how to get people to eat Vitamin D, and zinc and exercise and build their immune system. There’s none of that discussion. It’s all about how to use a pandemic as a pretense to obliterate democracy… The CIA through USAID was the biggest funder, even bigger than Tony Fauci, of gain of function studies in Wuhan, the Pentagon was second, Tony Fauci was third… The Pentagon began funnelled the money through Tony Fauci to Wuhan, $1.7 billion a year. Now it’s $2.2 billion. They also gave Fauci a 68% raise attached to his bioweapons research. That’s one of the reasons why he had to continue to do this gain of function research even when Obama told him to stop in 2014. He didn’t… Ralph Baric with funding from Tony Fauci developed the system for hiding the evidence of engineering. If you were really interested in public health you would want to do the opposite of that… That’s not what they were doing. They were weaponizing it so that it could not be traced back to when they dropped it on the world. Baric then with funding from Tony Fauci developed the system for hiding the evidence of engineering. If you were really interested in public health you would want to do the opposite of that… That’s not what they were doing. They were weaponizing it so that it could not be traced back to when they dropped it on the world. Baric then with funding from Fauci then taught that technology which he called the *“no-see-um”* technology to Zheng-Li Shi, the Chinese scientist who was running that lab under the control of the Chinese communist party and the People’s Liberation Army… Tony Fauci funded it." -Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
