As usual such a detailed,d thorough, easy to follow explanation and I'm sorry but man, it's so easy on the ears also (Wifey isn't reading this, lol). There's no 100% way to pleas everyone but I don't drink. I've never had a drop of booze of any sort in my life. BUT - I eat like a madman. My point - I so dislike the "included premium drink package" because it's built into my fare, yet Coke or Pepsi is as wild as I'll get. Likewise, I wonder if people would like their fare jacked up for unlimited Maine lobster (no not the pretend MDR Lobster) and prime porterhouses and jumbo shrimp cocktail - - if they aren't a pig like me? I certainly agree somewhat when people don't like being " nickel'ed and dime'd " on vacation but speaking just for myself, I'm quite all right with a lower base fare, and I can feel free to pay up for premium food or premium drinks. Also, the no-gratuities-included is sort of a rip because again, people who don't drink won't enjoy the free booze benefit, BUT they'll be paying for gratuities additionally. Anyhow, it's been some years since I've cruised. Probably done 7-8 Penthouses over the years but alas, I'm retired in my 40's and have kids college coming up so this time no Penthouse but rather I have 2 Sky Suites. Really hoping that the quality and service are still pretty good. My little secret: I feel that the Mercury ship - way back in the early 2000s was better service and quality than all of these Insta-gram generation concoctions. I miss those days on X :).
