A good example of how Oklahoma does not celebrate or respect veterans or the military very well.

Now the traffic's a headache.The streets never look that empty anymore.Not even at 2,3,4am.Creepy things are crawling & sprawling around 24/7.That small town feel ended somewhere around '07.

I explored metro-Phoenix extensively in spring of 95... moved across country for the Phoenix Police Academy (and Scottsdale PD). Massive change from rural NH, despite job offers in New England... felt relocating to a completely different environment/climate and with literally a hockey bag of clothes to my name (mid 20's/no debt/single) was the answer. Phoenix was a fresh blackboard in which to write my new life story, not diluted by some bad memories and relationships. Also everyone was very friendly and welcoming... quickly made new associations whereas New Englanders are very conservative in nature (<- meaning guarded/take a long time vetting newcomers and prefer them to be vouched for by a 'native' LOL Remembering before the 51 and Loop 101 was in place, but also robust malls and quality of life (a huge change from New England). Some of the $$$ homes in south Scottsdale were inexpensive/undesirable block homes along with a significantly higher crime rate - if only I had the cash/foresight back then realizing the development of Tempe/Waterfront and gentrification that would take place (like on McDowell - where the planned 'Auto Mile' is turning into premium $ condos. When I drove all around Scottsdale - decided that living 'North of Shea' was the answer (and after apartments and now four homes, never wavered!). Thank you for the video - I'm taking a mental break during my work day and randomly discovered this footage!! IK N. Phoenix
