Thank you for posting interviews like this!!! I love his narration and I am definitely one that will pick an audiobook because I see he narrated it. I love hearing interviews like this when they share their thoughts on the genre and their own history… Particularly when it surprises me! I would never have guessed he was in comedy or a clown!!!

It’s such a coincidence that both my favourite creators on Quinn are on the same podcast! What I love about you both is that you’re one of rarest creators on Quinn who have made audios on intimacy after having kids. Would love more of that from you both. Firstly because you both have the depth to carry that narrative and secondly it’s such an undeserved trope! Parents of young children everywhere are struggling with finding the time or the words of appreciation for each other. Hearing those audios as a mom was a such a good feeling! We’ve changed, we’re not the people we used to be, we can’t go back to the same stuff again. Most of the times we don’t have time to even appreciate ourselves let alone be appreciated. So kudos to you two for doing those audios.

Are you going to be talking with other Quinn creators? You might really enjoy having “drRapture” on - great storyteller😊

I would listen to Joe Jameson reading a dictionary at this point 😅 I was first introduced to Joe when he took over narrating The Undead series on Audible. I then started listening to The Greatcoat series and realised he was the narrator there too. He does a fantastic job with every one of the voices and is by far my favourite narrator. Really enjoyed this episode and learning more about the process of making audiobooks!

Evergreen is an awesome book and I would 100% recommend it! Especially brilliant for evening dog walks in quiet neighbourhoods- the night I listened to the first few chapters, the first (and last) snow of the year was swirling around me, which made the experience even more magical than it would’ve been otherwise. This book is simply incredible and honestly I cannot put into words how much I love it.

Finlay has one of the most seductive and interesting voices.

I’m one of the listeners who will largely listen to anything Teddy narrates because he narrated it. There’s just something about his voice that pulled me in with the first time I heard him in “One Moment Please” by Amy Daws. Though collecting narrated books is still a new thing for me. I think I like his Asher character the most in the mate games books especially with Jacob Morgan. Great narration by the full cast in those books alone, but Asher and Remy stole the books for me. I just loved them as characters and their love story.

So, I watched a short on becoming a narrator for audiobooks and the algorithm showed me one of your videos (day in the life) and I looked into your channel and found this one. Interesting that you didn’t get a bunch of views when this came out! But I think if you made a “how to get into this industry” video I think your channel would blow up. I’m definitely interested! I’m an actress who naturally does accents plus I speak Spanish and can vary that accent as well. Cheers!

Audiobook narrators are the unsung heroes of the vo world. That is hours and hours of hard work

If there's one hill I'd be willing to die on, it's this: Joe Jameson is, hands down, the best narrator in the business! His voice is smooth as butter with an amazing vocal range. And the way he manipulates his voice to give every character a unique and distinct voice is beyond impressive, especially the women. I sometimes forget that it's not a women narrating when the book has multiple women talking to each other. And the accents, chefs kiss! If you need more persuasion, go listen to 'The Greatcoats' and/or 'The Broken Empire'. And if you're still not convinced after that, we may dual on top this hill. But I digress.. TLDR; Sir Jameson is the best, fight me to the death.

Karen is the audiobook industry's equivalent of a national treasure. I don't think there is a professional narrator that has come on to the scene in the past ten years that hasn't learned something from her that has directly shortened their path to success. She is a total gem!

Must be the right time for me to bump into your yt page and subscribe. I'm taking this as a sign because I've been meaning to apply as a narrator for the past few months and just ordered a while ago my first ever microphone for recording. I hope I can start soon and learn from people like you. :)

As a clinical psychologist I loved ‘reasons to stay alive´

Does he mark his script for tone, emphasis, and any word that is tricky to pronounce? I have challenges with words that end in ED, and the video on the 3 ending sounds of ER words was quite helpful. "Plowed Fields" should be out on the market soon as the author and my audio guy are taking care of that.

How important are regional accents in narration and is it necessary to either learn them or completely RP neutralise them?

John - THANK YOU!! A friend shared a reading from Matt Haig's "The Comfort Book" the other day and I was so moved by it that I've been seeking more info this morning. And now I know to order all three books too. No wonder you enjoy his writing - you have a similar, unpretentious, engaging and fresh style.

I'm an author that was going to to ACX...you seem very professional...so there is quite a bit of time involved doing reading and prep before you record...yet you only get paid for recording time?
