40+ 2025 Anticipated Releases 🍾📚 sff, horror, lit fit, sequels, & debuts
Salutations! It's finally time to share my anticipated releases of 2025. I tried to wait for as long as I could so that I can share as many covers as possible. These releases dates are mostly US unless I said otherwise, which happened for a few titles. Also, these dates are subject to change because publishing is weird. Let me know y'all's 2025 anticipated releases or books I should keep an eye out as well.

About to film my own to be read/to be filmed/to be written video for 2025, and sometimes I get in my head and start doubting if a video concept is even "worthy" of having other people's eyes on it. But watching this has been a blast, thank you for lighting my motivation fire back up!
Aww, you're welcome! Good luck on your goals 💞
I started reading The Only Good Indians and was SO SCARED that I had to stop. Nonetheless, Buffalo Hunter Hunter sounds like something I can enjoy and read all the way through without too much panic lmao
I heard The Only Good Indians was intense, so I hope The Buffalo Hunter Hunter isn't too scary for both of us 🤞🏾
ended up adding some titles from this video! Hammajang Luck, The Unmapping, and Dust Settles North are ones I have in common with you. So far, my most anticipated is also one under Bindery Books: Local Heavens (cyberpunk, Great Gatsby retelling, Filipino-American main character) which is slated for fall 2025.
Local Heavens by K.M. Fajardo is also on my main list, but I wanted to wait for more information (release date, cover, etc.) before adding it to the video. I'll definitely add it in part two though 💚
Buffalo Hunter sounds good!
Really excited to check it out!
These all sound great thanks for putting this list together🌻
No problem! I love sharing new releases! 💚
🎊🎉
Thanks for watching! 💖
I've already pre-ordered The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. I love his work this last year especially have been working my way through his back catalog as well as the two he published in 2024. He's such a great writer, at this point he's definitely an auto-buy!
Such high praise! I am confident I will love The Buffalo Hunter Hunter 🦬
I really need to get back to journaling. This looks sooo much fun. I can just imagine how fun it would be physically writing out reviews for books and then filling them out with fun letterings, stickers and stuff. Okay I know what to ask for exchange gifts now. I need them colorful pens and highlighters (stabillo has those fun dark shade pastels).
Yes! Colorful pens and highlighters are the way to go! Also love stabillo highlighters ✏️ Journaling is a lot of fun, creative, and relaxing when you don't pressure yourself either. Highly recommend!
It's funny I have the same bullet journal... mine is square..
Oooo 👀👻 I was thinking of going back to a square journal but chose the B5 instead. Great choice!!

The three Silvia Moreno Garica books on tour TBR are the first ones I read from her and solidified her as a favorite author. I hope you get to them in 2025!
Such praise! I am even more excited to read them next year 💚
I never even considered a reading journal before and my mind is blown at the details and creativity. Very beautiful, yours looks exciting to use! Also this type of video is perfect to fall asleep to, seeing how I just woke up from an unintentional 2 hour nap
Thanks! 💖💚 I'm glad my video soothed you for a good nap 😴
Love your title page!! It reminds me to try doing a studio ghibli marathon next year got inspired by your anticipated reads and physical tbr spreads the most. I mainly track stuff on notion but I haven’t created pages for those two specific things yet and I think I need to in order to be able to access that info faster and keep them in my radar. I am also working on a page to help me plan what I’m going to borrow in my library by month as I always go with a strategy in mind 😁
A Studio Ghibli marathon sounds like a great idea! I also track my anticipated reads and physical TBR on Notion as well. A spread for library loans by month is a good idea; I never thought of that before.
Yaayyyy journal content! It's looking great so far! Can't wait to see it all filled out and how your reading goes next year. I'm gonna have to make an arc tracker for mine. I'm usually not big on arcs, but I do want to start reading arcs of my book subscription picks so I can know whether I want to skip a month or not lol
Sounds like a good idea to make an ARC tracker. I hope you get the ARCs of your book sub picks. 💖
Great inspo. Would love to see more journaling videos. 👻📖
Thanks! Definitely looking forward to making more journaling videos 📓💚
I love all the ghosts so much 😂💜 too cute
OMG Thanks! 👻😁
Looks amazing thanks for the inspo I still need to set mine up👻
Thanks for watching! No rush on journal setup 📓

@@CityGirlWriter Always 💕
I need to make a cheat sheet for spacing for my journal. I figure it out from scratch every time and it’s ridiculous lol.
I used to do that, and it's truly ridiculous to do all of that counting. A cheat sheet/grid spacing guide is the best way to go 📏
Heck yeah
😁📓💖
Oh wow! That intend to read section is so detailed.
Thanks! I wanted to make sure there was room for all of those books 💚
So excited! Mine are along the same lines, I'd like to prioritize my physical TBR as much as possible and reduce the physical books I buy now that I got my Kobo hahaha I also want to create more content for IG, more bookish nail art probably
I always love seeing your bookish nail art posts on Instagram 💅🏾📚💖
You and Nat need to update me as y'all read the Burning Kingdoms trilogy (I haven't read Lotus Empire yet though! It's very high on my physical tbr though)
So far, Nat is still reading and I finished reading The Jasmine Throne last week 😅
🦃🦃🦃
Thanks for watching! 💚
I didn't love Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, but I'm kinda intrigued by Strange the Dreamer. Excited to see what's in store for your channel next year! Especially looking forward to the writing sprints!
💖📓🖋️ I hope you enjoy Strange the Dreamer if you read it one day
Black sun was excellent. I read the whole series this year and while book 1 was the best I'm very happy I read the series. I hope you have a great time with it too!
My only 2025 goal is to resolve some health issues. I've been off work sick for over a month now and I am tired of it.
💖💛
I hope your health issues get resolved soon ❤️🩹
An Ember in the Ashes + Strange the Dreamer is also on my series TBR for next year! I haven’t read Erin Morgenstern yet but I can vouch for Laini Taylor’s writing style, I enjoyed her Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy. I think I previously mentioned that I wanted to work on a book blog, and that’s actually a decision I made bc I felt that my bookstagram is not the best platform for me anymore! I am itching to do more longform content 🙈 hope we are able to fulfill our goals!
I hope we both get to those series next year. A blog is definitely a good way to make longform content that Instagram cannot do. Hoping for both of us to fulfill our goals 🥂💛
Some of my favorite essay collections I’ve read this year are Grieving by Cristina Rivera Garza, Our Women on the Ground edited by Zara Hankir, and How Far the Light Reaches by Sabrina Imbler💚 Hope the changes you plan on making work out for the better🌻
*writes down essay collection recs* 👀👀 Thanks for the recommendations!
It feels like a season of change right now.
Truly! And I am loving it 💖
I need to check if my library has a copy of Role Playing because I had it on my tbr for months and now I really want to read it 🤔 In terms of numbers, my November was fine, 9 books. A lot of 3-3,5 stars though and for the second half of the month I didn't feel like picking up any book 😐 I'm out of it now so excited for December ❤🦃
I hope December becomes a really good reading month for you 💜

I’m glad you finally read Role Playing. 🥰

Ooo okay def need to recheck out Delicious Monsters! The size always intimidates me. Also you’ve made me reconsider Salome 👀🌹
Delicious Monsters is definitely a chucker, but totally worth the read. I am biased with The Seventh Veil of Salome since it was my first Silvia Moreno-Garcia, but that audiobook was really good and helpful 💖
I made this lovely reasonable 8-book december tbr and then I went to the library and brought home 8 more books... sigh
Biggest sigh...😮💨😮💨

That travel size notebook is pretty and it's nice to know it's vegan leather. Very cool! I just finished a life show this morning and I was so tired from the night before (visiting family), but I got through it. Can't wait for next year's TBR. It's going to be stacked.
Already loving my new notebook 😊Next year's TBR is definitely stacked for me 😅
Frappuccino is an adorable dog's name. lol! OMG! You grabbed a copy of A Little Devil in America! You're going to love it.
Very cute dog! I think I will love A Little Devil in American as well 😊
Gorgeous notebook!
@@anaovejero103 Thanks! ☺️ 📓
this week, I’ve been reading 2 books at the same time very slowly and I made progress in my writing project! I stopped borrowing novels so that I could catch up with my current reads but still wanted to visit my library (I visit mine once a month usually) so I got a few manga volumes + dvds! for 2025, I think my main bookish goals are to work on making a book blog and continue going through my physical tbr
@@angelyntor2273 Always great to make great progress on a project! I definitely need to slow down my physical library borrowing for the remainder of the year. A book blog sounds really cool! 💖
Hope you have good reads 😊
@@Ellereads1 Thanks 😊
Bummer about info dumping in Blood Over Bright Haven. When that happens I get taken out of the magic of the book. That's what happened when I read Womb City.
The magic system did have hard rules, but the writing was definitely not helpful in delivering such information either.
4/5 for Role Play?! Okay, I'll need to check it out. Abdurraqib's is also on button poetry. If you put his name in a TH-cam search + button poetry, it's worth a listen.
Button Poetry?! 🏃🏾💨 SAY LESS!!
I gave this the same rating! So good!!!
oh wait, i mixed up my Cathy Yardleys--Role Playing is good but I just read her latest, Do Me A Favor, and I liked it even more 🤗
I'm excited to hear your final thoughts on Twelfth Night once you finish! It's on my TBR but I just haven't been in the mood for YA recently.
My next vlog will have my full thoughts on Twelfth Knight. I hope whenever you are in the mood for a YA book, you will enjoy it ✨💚
Ooh I’ll have to check out Time Travellers it sounds great🍉
I think you will enjoy it 👍🏾✨
I'm holding off on making my self destruct TBR until the end of the year, so I can see what I can get through before 2025 haha, but I do know Kingsbane by Claire Legrand will be on the list. I read Furyborn years ago and enjoyed it and so much time has passed now that I'm not sure I'm still interested in continuing the series, so if I don't get to it in 2025, it's gotta go
Makes sense to wait until end of December for your TBR. I think I have finalized my series TBR as well, but I hope you enjoy Kingsbane and continue the series.
I loved The Space Between Worlds! I'm a sucker for an alternate reality story. Also surprisingly I've read different Isabella Hammad and Hao Jingfang books this year and I really enjoyed both of them (Enter Ghost and Jumpnauts). Would be interested to know what their other books are like 🚀
I also want to read Enter Ghost and Jumpnauts 👀
