Las Vegas Blvd - Glass Pool Inn - 1992
มุมมอง 1.1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Driving north on Las Vegas Blvd from the "Welcome To LV Sign" to Mandalay Bay Rd. in July 1992. Only a few buildings are still there. The Laughing Jackalope began as Wright’s Motel. It changed names to Ali Baba’s, and Sunbird Inn, then the Laughing Jackalope. The Warren Motel Apartments, now known as Desert Oasis Apartments. I also found some free beer & pizza at the phone booth at the intersec...

USAF Thunderbirds Hanger Tour July 1992

Back in the good old days when a civilian could stop in at the gate, show some I.D., receive a pass good for a couple hours, and drive to the Thunderbirds hanger and take a tour. How things have changed since then.

I Will Forever Miss The Mirage. It was my Favorite Las Vegas Hotel.
I miss Vegas back in the day
Thank you for this
Is nobody going to mention the random getting arrested by mirage?
who's the mechanical properties of the inner and outer wrap? was it uniform?
3:41 wow !!
1:10 stayed at this Aladin and saw THAT show for free. It was excellent
#DefeatAging #AntiAging Keep traditional and modern alive Keep las vegas safe 🙏 ❤️ Traditional modern futuristic anachronism rules
Watching in 2024 and need a Vegas trip soon!
My 2nd time in Vegas was in '94!!! The 1st ('92), 2nd and 3rd ('95) trips were business since I TDY at Nellis AFB for a Red Flag Exercise. I went in '03 & '08 for weddings and '21 & '22 for pleasure! Over those 30 years Vegas has almost become unrecognizable because of the density of casinos and their towers! 😢
Nice. Captured a bust on film by a bicycle cop.😅
R.I.P TROPICANA 1957-2024 ❤
this is the perfect era for las vegas, great mix of new and old resorts qnd it still has that old school feel but also some newer names just starting to come up. peak!!❤❤❤
Imperial palace and the Harrah’s riverboat!
Ahhh...nice memories ...thank you.
it's crazy seeing this days after the tropicana got demolished.
Is that the sphere at 9.22 😂
@@paulorourke4315 I believe that was called the Omnimax Theatre
The tropicana is now a skeleton
Now it's a pancake
I've been to Vegas numerous times, but the most fun times were in the mid/late 90's. This is the Vegas I want to return to.
Californian here Las Vegas and Nevada is one of the worst states in the nation. Fuck Nevada. Thank you, good bye yall
Wow...the place is barren and deserted.
Great memories. Prorior to NY NY
I was there a month after you took this video. Thanks for the flashback. 😁👍
I used to live in Las Vegas from 1990-2021; I remember the old casinos were fancier than the new casinos.
The Strip was so much better back then. So simple and uncluttered. Now it's an overdeveloped mess!
RIP mirage, I stayed there the week they closed and got to walk around closing night. I was at treasure Island and I got to watch the show from my room a couple times.
In '94 I was in my early 20's, in the Air Force stationed at Nellis and working part time security at Caesars Palace. I'd hang out at Tigers Pub or the Sports Bar by UNLV listening to alternative music like The Cure and playing pool. Then after a night of drinking, head to the Golden Nugget for $2.99 steak and eggs. I had my whole future ahead of me, anything seemed possible. Flash forward to now and the only thing the future holds for me is social security, erectile disfunction and Depends.😥
I hear you man. We are in the same boat.
He caught an arrest. 8:30
Thank You!!!
I love the old las vegas...so many iconic casinos are gone😢
My first time was 1995 and looked very similar to this and seen it change so much over the past 29 years. Earlier this week as they are demolishing the Trop and Mirage, I noticed at the Mirage they still have the Siegfried and Roy statue that was shown in this video. I didn't realize that was so old and for some reason, I don't think I ever noticed it until this week, despite passing by it 100's of times throughout the decades. Also very cool to see Harrah's riverboat and some of the older hotels I remember, but long forgot where they used to be...
Damn 1994, GG that's pretty cool but half are priceless
Was there in the summer of 94' to see the DEAD................ All the heads used to trip out in front of the Stardust sign for hours after the show.
Funny. This is the exact year I went to vegas for the first time with my grandparents. We used to go visit my grandpa's mother, siblings, nieces and nephews every year in California (coming from Texas) and we would spend a couple nights in Vegas on the way there and back. My grandpa would save up all year and be tight with his money, but on vacation he was like a different man entirely. As I got older I realized he did that so he could show his family a great time and that wouldn't have been possible had he not saved through the year. I'd give just about anything to make this trip with my grandparents one more time. They used to have such a good time and wanted me to experience the arcade even though I know it was a pain in the behind to have a kid in vegas on vacation with you lol. RIP Ma-maw and Pa-paw.
*2 Things:* Fashion Show Mall was short The skull-faced wall on Treasure Island ;_;
Good enough for a GM hood.
People dump on Circus Circus, but I had Good Times there! And it didn't cost an arm and a leg. Back in the 70s I frequented the $3.25 Dinner Buffet before retiring to the Dime-Ante-6-Card-Stud game. The Nickel slots paid out $185 on my Wedding Day; that's like $1000 in 2024 Money. Las Vegas is all high priced stuff now. We Old Folks miss the $1.95 Steak and Eggs of the Old Cheap Las Vegas.
Ideally if they did not get rid of iconic hotels like the Aladdin, the Tropicana, the Stardust, the Mirage, the Monte Carlo, the Riviera, & the Frontier, combined with they do NOT charge those extra miscellaneous resort fees per night & finally kept the volcano show in the Mirage as well as kept the pirates show at Treasure Island, then we would have seen modern Las Vegas would still be good. Unfortunately, modern Las Vegas price gouging too much with them resort fees & they got rid of several historical iconic buildings...
theres nothing.
Aww 1994.
add tropicana and mirage to the graveyard now RIP
So that’s how Cadbury make Flake chocolate bars😂😂😂❤❤❤👍👍🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧
I was there a couple of times about this time. Stayed at Excalibur and Treasure Island. I miss that Vegas.
The Allman Brothers! Likely with Gregg Allman! Midnight Rider!!! 🎉😂😢
5:05 I am pretty sure that's me and my friends walking our way to Mary K's Arcade (Commercial Square......Yes...THAT PLACE..) It was two blocks down and my Mom worked at the Riviera (also had a great arcade). I lived off of Karen and be over there all the time. (The Strip served as a bus line)
man, imagine urban strike if it was done in today's vegas
Many places haven't been built yet, many not around anymore, fun seeing The STRAT in the middle of construction
Ahh, life seemed so much simpler.
cool...what camera was that ? VHS or HI8 or 8mm or compact VHS or Beta...
It was a Sony Hi8
ahh back in the day when there's no zombie methheads roaming around.
