May the 4th Bathurst NSW 2023
In 2023 the Friends Of The Carillon society joined in the festivities for May the 4th, with a special performance of Star Wars tunes.
The Bathurst War Memorial Carillon is a special monument. One of only 3 full Carillons in Australia. As Bathurst's memorial to the ANZACs the carillon holds a special place in our town, it is a place of remembrance and place of reflection, but it is also a place of celebration. The music it plays is a reminder of the lives lived, and accomplishments of the community's service men and women.
The Bathurst War Memorial Carillion is played most days by experienced carillonist and chimes on the hour. Show tunes, popular music and cinematic scores have been played and on May the 4th, themes from Star Wars were played to a small crowd who had come to see the spectacle.

This might not really sound true but im related to the man who found the nugget my great grandmother's mother had the tip of the nugget before giving it to the Sydney museum. I also have 9 of his photographs he took back before he found the nugget.
