This is so heartbreaking. 😭
Thank you for the upload.
Great book, great reader. Thanks a lot for the upload.
I recently became 60. My niece already died in a tragic accident. Now my nephew just had a massive heart attack, and coded twice on the way to the hospital. I know what it feels to be older than you should. I should go before them… the beginning of this audio echoes my thoughts.
Whoa...
Why would anyone read like that?
A robot laughs.
This is what "classic" really means, in a world conditioned by garbage culture.
A great book, a worthy addition to the body of Prof. Asimovs work ! But utterly depressing - at least 30 years ago ... predicting the future, our present 😑

One of the first science fiction books I ever read was the Hugo winners vol 1 and 2 put out by the old science fiction book club. I ordered it when I was maybe 14 or 15 back around 1974 or 1975. I remember I had ordered about 5 books for a $1 or something like that. They used to put the little folded ad in many of the paperbacks of that time. Originally I only bought DAW books they were always enjoyable stories and I loved the yellow borders and the great cover art. Isaac provided a small intro to all the stories in the Hugo winners and I u his humor. After ⅚4 the Hugo winners I started in on the Foundation Trilogy and was hooked for life! It was years later that I finally read one of the sequels. I was busy with college and then marriage after that. I used to be a fanatic reader. I could read 4 to 5 books a day!!! Then I was lucky to manage 1 a week then maybe 1 a month! It was years before I was able to finish the series. I am 64 now and found I prefer to listen to audiobooks. I read this last volume in the series and it got me how there would never be another one. Such a sad thought. I felt the need to thank Isaac for helping to make me a lifelong fan of both his and science fiction in general. So...thank you Isaac and enjoy your well deserved rest
ummmm, what happened in the 5:46:50 ? another voice appeared.
You sometimes have a different reader... is this from a 2nd version of this book? The main reader has excellent reading ability but lacking a theatrical diction or flare but the second reader inserted every-so-often has that theatrical quality which has me thinking part of this audiobook somehow is missing or had degraded some how? OR is that an artistic choice you made yourself?
I'll be honest. I wasn't a fan of Prelude and I dragged myself to the end. I thought it was going to be a similar process with Forward but this was gut wrenching. I just loved all these characters and seeing Seldon get older reveals the pain that any young person will eventually endure. It wasn't just a prequel the the foundation series but to how a man's life as well. I loved it.
Prelude was amazing

My very 1st sci-fi novel was, "Pebble in the Sky," by Issac Asimov. Started my love affair with the genre.
obrigado pelo livro
Thanks for posting.
Goodness! I enjoyed this book so much. Truly I didn’t want it to end. I love all the Foundation books and the Robot books also. They got me through that horrible year 2020.

Two robots logically reasoning that it is better to have loved and lost than to have never lost at all was to me a genuinely tearful moment
Thanks!! Beautiful!!

Thank you. I love the McKeever readings of Asimov.
So different from the previous ones. Brutal.
His last book, I believe, finished just before he died. That may be why.
How old was Asimov writing this? :))
72, he was fast, when he finised this Novell, it was published after his death
First chapter is BRUTAL to anyone who just turned 40.
I'm 47 and I felt it in my bones.
Ha ha. When you think about it. Im 43

By the gods, that ending. And now on to Foundation for me. Thank you for posting.

Awesome 👍
I want the whole lot read by Larry.
@@Danthehorse I'd love that too, but I have not found the original trilogy read by him. However, you can find the two prequels and the two sequels read by him.
