I recently re-watched season 1 and I was reminded just how great a series it was compared to the dumpster fire of the Acolyte. Great plot development, great acting, great dialog, excellent use of CGI. Yes it cost a fraction of the Acolyte's budget. One lose thread I REALLY want to see resolved is Andor's search for his missing sister. He's been tracking her for years, why would he just drop that.

Good analysis. One of the greatest graphic novel series was Dark Horse's "Tales of the Jedi" in the 90s, set thousands of years before the OT, and it was epic. It boggles my mind that Disney/Lucasfilm ignores such material.

I believe the prequel trilogy is good, maybe not the acting, maybe a bit cringy at times, but the story is good, very different from the original, something new. The new trilogy, on the other hand, is very well done, but the story just sucks, pieces of the original script copied here and there. Ultimately, you are right, it is about courage, they lacked courage, and played it "safe." They could have written a new story, depicting a different world, no empire, no functioning democracy, caos and everything to rebuild. Instead, they recreated the empire, the darth one, the emperor, the same settings, the luke, boring and underwhelming. If they discard it, who would miss it?

I always personally been more intrigued and interested in the darker side of marvel for years and as fan of the supernatural side of marvel i havent been satisfied and i feel like i will be waiting even longer since the next saga is going to be about the mutants but hopefully we get more mystic and supernatural marvel content in the mutant saga somewhere

I'm going to continue watching but I was very disappointed in the writing. There were so many gaps especially in conversations. These are some of the best actors and actresses and their lines felt dumbed down. 😒 I also dislike when they condense a ton of information into a half-assed narrated montage in the beginning.

While i don’t think brave new world will be better than civil war or winter soldier ( because those movies are just so good ) I do think this movie have the potential to be Amazing and to show people that marvel can still make good projects. this movie really got a lot of pressure on it especially since it’s Sams first movie as Cap so I hope it can live to experience

Having read the books, including all the pre-Dune ones, I think this is a very interesting beginning (a "delicate time"!). I expect many of the flashbacks will relate to the novels for backstory (helpful/required for those who haven't read them, but still a treat for those that have), as they did in this episode; but the present time is set outside of the books, so can stand alone as a new story. I think that if you have read the prequel novels, as the 'Duniverse' is so rich (and they're pretty good), then you will enjoy a wider perspective when watching, but appreciate that's the concept of "wider reading" and most people may not want, or have time, to apply that to something they watch for 45 mins. It's the same with the films.. As for comparisons with GoT or HotD - well, you could just as easily say they're ALL like Dynasty, Dallas, or any soap opera... it's too reductive: that's just the vehicle/format, enjoy the journey! Looking forward to watching the rest and seeing what this new story adds!
