The Kia Seltos, introduced in 2020, has surpassed the Soul and Niro in U.S. sales within the subcompact segment.
Kia is currently developing the next-gen Seltos, including a hybrid variant. This hybrid option was reportedly confirmed during the Kia Labor-Management Employment Stability Committee and will be produced at the Autoland Gwangju factory, as reported by Chosun Biz.
At the 2024 Kia CEO Investor Day, President and CEO Ho Sung Song confirmed the development of a new hybrid system for subcompact vehicles, likely to debut in the Seltos.
The Kia Seltos Hybrid is expected to feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a 1.5-liter engine delivering 150 horsepower and 45 mpg.
Production of the Seltos Hybrid is slated for 2025 as per Chosun Biz, with a potential U.S. launch in early 2026, possibly starting just under USD 30,000. Watch our video to know our expectations from the Kia Seltos Hybrid.
