Our STORY:
Zuk Fitness was founded by a lifelong athlete who tragically became a very high-level quadriplegic at 25, and found a new life goal. He found there were no good motivating options for working out as a quad, and wanted to regain his love for fitness and share it with the spinal cord injury community & everyone else with mobility impairments.

    Been in a wheelchair a year since las November, I can't still do so many things like jumping my butt from the bed to the wheelchair, still use the slide board with help i want to spend more time sitting but between the brief and the catheter, and my swollen legs, and .muscle pain it's very difficult. I kept trying

    I'm a T4 as well. Do you use any kind of brace for your lower back?

      I don't think Leo or Bryan uses a back brace, but they both emphasize strengthening all of the core that you do have to help with balance because its always a balancing act.

    Thank you! I have Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis with acquired ataxia and peripheral neuropathy, etc who developed the boxing habit while my mobility went downhill. I have gained interest in adaptive boxing but the jump rope issue has always bothered me. (I can jump a little but will crash along the way if I jump for real.) This video gave me some ideas about a workout that can build grip strength, my arms, and cardio. Thanks!

    I am able to use my full body but brain injury survivor in a wheelchair maybe one day not in wheelchair but we’ll see ha ha but this is the life at the moment 12 years doing but just hitting the gym recently looking for wheelchair exercises to work biceps triceps back chest

      He has one, it's just pretty low. You learn how to manage with a short backrest over the years. There's definitely a technique to everything

    This is so awesome!!! I wasn't paralyzed by a accident instead I was born with Spina Bifida. I use to walk everywhere on crutches but I now am in a wheelchair now that I am older. It is great finally seeing videos for someone with a disability done by someone that understands things like needing to be concerned about cathing before exercising.

    My stepson is in the same position you with a spinal injury. He’s just come out of his shell after being in the chair for three years. I’ve got him down to the gym today my personal one I understand how to train myself but this video is helping me understand his body and how I can push him to his goal. Xx a1😎

    Thank you for doing exercises like in a real gym. that thread whatever that is feels very deep i'm still second tired of doing Exercises that are made for an 85 year old person that has a free up bone and can't really move that well. I think people forgot that those difference between handy capable and handicap. so I appreciate it very much that you show us the difference. one question I do have, is the Left side of my body is weak So I don't have control over the lower part of my arm Could could you possibly show exercises that I could do And also how I can get back in my chair? I know how to get out of my chair safely but I do not know how to get back in my chair without assistance I never really like to learn how.

      You can easily make one with PVC, 2 end caps and fill it with rocks or sand. Or by a metal pipe at Home Depot

    Sir, I have spinal cord problems, which is why im on wheelchair I have back posture issues. My posture is so bad . Can you please provide a video of how I can set my comfort posture

      It's such a complicated personal thing. I struggle with that also. You just have to get pretty creative and hopefully find a good physical therapists to help

    Great starter video. This is the type of workout session I need. I used to be a world class wheelchair tennis quad player. But left the sport to pursue a career. Sadly, over the last 8 years I had gained a lot of weight and am limited in some things I can do w/out pain as was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis in 8 different vertebrae. I actually got a little choked up doing these as I felt a bit lost in life and this gave me a burst. Thanks
