I did this to my handrails but can't get it to stick. It just never dries, stays soft and easily scrapes off.

I would have used a satin finish and not painted the door knob. I would have left the knob brass and also gotten a brass kick plate.

It is a nice color of blue though not too light and not too dark.

It works just fine next to the brown. A lighter blue would not have worked as well.

Yes, I'd get the glossy verison for its' lux. Paint the door knobs brass and put a brass lick plant at the bottom of the door.
