This study is all about the visual documentation of historical heritage in the form of old structures and landmarks in the province of Tarlac, with film as the main instrument to create visual narratives that document the history and story behind every structure and landmark. The province of Tarlac is also home to many structures that have historical significance both to national and international
history, they are the deaf witnesses of rich history that shaped the identity of not only the Tarlaqueños but the Filipinos as well. Unfortunately, these historical heritage places and landmarks are facing problems that affect their existence in the modern world. The continuous demolition in exchange for business establishments and the threats of man-made disasters such as war, negligence, and ignorance, as well as natural disasters, are the main factors contributing to the disappearance of heritage structures and landmarks in the province of Tarlac.
Therefore, the researchers implemented an enhanced and comprehensive survey and inventory of initially five confirmed heritage structures and landmarks of Tarlac, but due to the restrictions of Covid 19 pandemic, one of the heritage structures listed was dropped.The researchers conducted interviews with the local historians and architects to discuss the history and heritage of Tarlac which
contributed to creating a series of documentary films as a response to the problems and threats faced by the Tarlaqueño heritage in disappearing in the future. The documentary film is also intended for knowledge expansion as well as to raise awareness among the people, especially Tarlaqueño about the importance of heritage sites and why they are worth fighting for. In this way, historical heritage sites in Tarlac are being preserved.
