You can actually skip the whole shield sequence by simply pressing left or right dodge when knight draws his shield. Supreme’s next.

The supers are only relevant at lvl max essentially making you want to pay for the tails vault so yh free to play players like me with my supers at lvl 7 get nothing 😂
