Practicing with Reverb on the cheap
When I am just practicing, this little Karaoke microphone toy makes it fun. You can find them on Amazon for about $24. I am mostly a melody player, so this is perfect. If you are after a blues amplified sound, this may not be your choice.

Taking it Easy
มุมมอง 52511 ปีที่แล้ว
I recorded this recently as "homework" to qualify for my level for mastery at Bluesharmonica.com. The piece, "Taking it Easy," was composed by David Barrett to introduce specific skills that a beginning harmonica player needs. I am still sounding tentative to me and timing needs work but after over a month of work, I am ready to share.

Todd Parrott - This Train is Bound for Glory
I wanna play like that
WoW !! Thanks Todd
เเจ่มมาก😊
Wow! Fantastic performance. The upper end notes slung “amazing”. Well done Todd!
Oh yeah brother man child of God we're riding on that train! Praise to the Almighty Son of God Jesus Christ.
Very ❤️ beautiful
Be sure to check Todd’s work out on his site especially his album. toddparrott.com
Похоже это джасовое звучания.
You're a master harmonics, great ad-libing too.
Super❤
AMAZING !
This stuff is unbelievable😮😮😮
check his cd at his website and TH-cam channel www.toddparrott.com
@@KMphotography thank you🙏
This guy is as good at his instrument as anyone I’ve ever heard at theirs period.
Be sure to get his album for much more! I agree, Todd is technically in another class. www.toddparrott.com/Music.html
He looks like the blues brothers guy, elvis presley and keith urban. Now thats the guy you want jamming out 😂
Wow.. Amazing❤
Love the guitar work too!
😎🎶🎶👏🏼👏🏼Good job
The way he bends the 6ob is remarkable. I mean, everything he plays in remarkable, but the way he can finesse an overblow bend is out of this world.
That requires a custom harp from Joe Spiers. Once I got good at customizing myself, I can bend that overblow similar to shown here. But, Joe has the secret sauce for this technique. Try a harp out, you ll be pleasantly surprised
Nice❤
Im thinking of picking up harmonica. There a kinda general harmonica? Or are they all the same?
Search Facebook for Harmonica Review group and ask your questions.
@@KMphotography thanks. I will
One of the best versions I ever heard.thank you.
Oh lord
Mind blowing !!
Very nice
Beautiful
I had lessons with him in Kerrville Texas in June 2022. This is killer harpin. He’s on an F harp and still playing in the upper register. He’s got speed on his riffs that mortals lack. I am a pipsqueak on harp compared to this man.
check out the video on this page for Anytune pro to see how I am trying to learn to play some of Todd's approaches: www.keithmitchell.photography/blog-post/software-tools-for-the-beginning-harmonica-player
Your articulation and vibrato is incredible. Unreal how mellow you make that high F# sound. Unreal talent 👏
Play Todd
wow!
Best I've heard!!!
I'm so glad I found your performance on the night I wanted to hear gospel/blues harmonica . Thank you for sharing this recording.
Merci
That just blew my mind
Sounds wonderfully great. You remind me a lot of Terry McMillan
Randy, Todd does indeed list Terry has one of his inspirations. Follow Todd at: www.toddparrott.com
Thank you for sharing.. I think so far the most beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace on harmonica. Hopefully Todd will play more gospel songs these days..
He's so good he makes me cry.
I just got my six year old grandson a harmonica……dreaming,! This is amazing,
Прекрасное исполнение. Спасибо!
I need this exact tab, oh my goodness! 🙏
Todd actually showed me during one of my lessons how he did the lick at 2:43. It was living in my head rent free and I'd thought I should ask him about it. I never heard an overdraw in action up until that point, let alone one that was bent. Okay, technically I did with another version of the same song he did in 2012, but I never paid any attention to it until recently. The dude is crazy talented.
Awesome Todd ❤❤❤
Thanks so much.
Last one, but it’s a heartfelt “Thank You!”
I believe this is the same set where you played Sunday Soup, and then sang a song “Everybody Wants to go Heaven, But Nobody Wants to Die”. If so, then please come back to Austin. I’ll bring everyone I know.
This is so amazing. The hours Todd has put into his craft are on full display. Love, love this song and this rendition. When are you coming back to Austin, and how do I get tickets? Straight amazing.
Wesley, I am in Round Rock and we had Todd bring his program to First Baptist a few years ago. He lives along way off so probably the best way to get him to the area is to have multiple churches invited him to perform so that it make it work for him financially. Of course it was a wonderful treat to have him at our church. At the time I invited local harmonica players to join. We also had Buddy Greene come for his performance. You can join the Gospel Harmonica Community on Facebook book to join a group that all enjoy good Gospel harmonica playing!
This has so much spirit in it, I would have guessed you were black if I didn’t see you!
I'm actually one of his students and this was the song that made me realize that Todd was something special as a harmonica player. Keep in mind I only listened to two songs from him, "I'll Fly Away" from SPAH 2012 and "Amazing Grace" from SPAH 2013, when I decided to take lessons from him. The way he played this song, I could hear a lot of influence from Terry McMillan in his playing and he has told me personally that Terry was his biggest influence. It's just that his style was like a combination of McMillan with the powerful blues licks and Toots Thielemans with the control of the higher end of the harp. What I think is his best performance was a song from that same concert called "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven". The McMillan influence was shining through in that one, even down to where you can hear him do McMillan's signature growl.
Oulala Oulala que c'est magnifique...
he went off. nice performance.
Great talent! Praise God
A lot of improv in this rendition.
