The Coalition is community powered - hundreds of people have contributed to the work of the Coalition - giving us a strong, independent voice. We mobilize our community to challenge systemic causes of homelessness and advocate for housing justice. We envision a region that acts on a shared sense of responsibility to ensure that everyone has a home.
We host General Membership meetings the third Thursday of each month from 9.00-10.30 a.m. (currently on zoom - recordings are posted here). Register for meetings and trainings, sign up for email, and learn about membership in the Coalition at our website.

General Membership Meeting - Annual Legislative Preview - December 12, 2024
During this year's legislative preview, we heard from state lawmakers Representative Emily Alvarado and Strom Peterson about their top priorities for this upcoming long legislative session (beginning January 13). We also heard from our state partner advocacy organizations, Washington Low Income Housing Alliance, Poverty Action, and Civil Survival.

Helping Homeless Students: McKinney-Vento 101 - October 1, 2024

At this year's training on Helping Homeless Students: McKinney-Vento 101, we went over the basics of the McKinney-Vento Assistance Act, talked to a McKinney-Vento liaison from Seattle Public Schools, and had a vibrant resource fair with providers who specifically serve youth and families experiencing homelessness.

This is relevant for case managers, peers, or family members who are supporting someone in obtaining or maintaining Medicare or Medicaid benefits and includes an “Ask a Lawyer” segment featuring Solid Ground’s legal team.
