I do not understand why he took her life. Shannon was also a teen when he was involved with her. No one would have done anything about him getting Na'ziyah pregnant. Jarvis Butts was the typical predator. He had a type. He never picked woman who were secure in themselves. He picked females who were vulnerable. Unfortunately, Shannon was one of them, that’s why it was so easy for Jarvis to control her mind.

Shannon knew. Shannon was willing to sacrifice Na'Ziah's innosence to keep Buts in her life. She knew what he wanted. Also, this probably wasn't the first time that that Monster took her and kept her out overnight. That's why the GMa waited until the next day, dame near noon, to report her missing.

I hate to see this family attack each other. Clearly, there were issues (as in every family) but to air them for the world to see weakens all of you. Most of what I have heard is speculative. No one can say definitively 'who knew what' prior to this child's disappearance. And if these accusations are true, then all of you were remiss in your duties as family. And the public condemnation is misplaced completely. Regardless of who knew what then, none of the family members are suspect. Therefore I submit to you all that the villain is in custody and he should be the focus of the condemnation. I am the mother of a daughter and 5 granddaughters. My family also was betrayed similarly upon who a great trust was endowed. When the betrayal became known, some of us agreed to "dig a hole". There were questions of how and why it wasn't suspected.....but never not once did we begin to destroy each other! In any situation there will be questions of 'should of -could of'. but at the end of it all family is everything. I understand the hostilities, feelings of failure and other hind sighted fueled feelings. But you all seem to be strong women capable of manifesting this tragedy in a way that may prevent it happening to another family or yours again. Let's focus on that and stop tearing each other apart.

So many times you two over talked and had them repeat themselves when they shouldn’t have had to if you allowed them to speak. You also kept mispronouncing Na’Ziyah’s name which was nerve wracking. Might I suggest you write your questions down and while they’re talking, take notes so you don’t interrupt? When they’re finished making their statements refer back to your notes so that you don’t interrupt. I know sometimes when someone is talking a thought comes up and you don’t want to forget the question; write it down and when they’ve finished talking ask that question. I’m glad the great aunt and cousin came to your platform to speak for Na’Ziyah. From my own experience, CPS is horrible! They interview children in front of “abusers” and expect them to not be intimidated. Even adults have to identify the suspect in a lineup behind a two way mirror to keep them from being intimidated but they won’t do it for kids. This case has me so sad. I was in Na’Ziyah’s shoes as a child. I know how it feels to be a child nobody protected. My mom’s second husband was JUST like Jarvis except he was never convicted. I remember telling my mom and her not believing me. I was nine! 5 years went by and my moms second husband walked in on the act and that was when she finally did something. Those 5 years were crazy. I went from being a happy, honor roll student to an angry, combative child with multiple suicide attempts. My mom put me in mental institutions instead of dealing with the real issue. After a while it felt normal. I no longer felt the shame. I got to a point where I would initiate. Looking back now, after counseling and understanding how hyper sexuality is an affect from SA, I can accept the fact it wasn’t my fault. Hearing adults and my peers calling me “fast” when it all came out. By the time trial came, I rescinded because I felt like nobody believed me. What was the point? This case has brought up issues I’ve dealt with to the point where I can’t sleep. I cry for Na’Ziyah EVERY night! Watching the preliminary hearing I felt that Annette and Shannon KNEW! May I NEVER see them out in public is all I’m going to say.

What baffles me is these women (not the ones in the video, the grandmother and Shannon) knew that this man was a registered sex offender and he literally had kids in their homes accusing him of touching them and they still took his side. Those women are sick and they failed this girl and all those children in those home to this day. This is sad.

I believe in those areas they checked… she’s not found because he had help! And I truly believe Shannon and GMA knows where she’s at. And helped. I also heard they still supporting him and recently celebrated his bday.

I would like to thank the Community Advocate Network for having us, and everyone who watched. It’s been a very long road and we have tried to protect Na’ziyah then, and even still now. Unfortunately, everyone won’t always understand that we were not looking for a social media following or publicity. Furthermore, I never attacked anyone but rather explained the before and aftermath of the case with as much truth as possible. Roxy was never omitted from the case for being distant family. It was her behavior! Going to people’s homes, knocking on doors, and accusing people of kidnapping and murdering Na’ziyah under the influence of a psychic.. even after the Chief Investigator told her to stand down. Which is another reason why those searches she had planned was a Hard NO! Everything was being taken back to facebook live and the podcast, and that was damaging the integrity of the case. Even still, after being drug through the mud, we didn’t engage because getting charges and a conviction for Na’ziyah has always been TOP priority. I did not show to the balloon release because it was premature, and also did not include the children in Na’ziyahs life that loved and cared for her and would be hurt by this the most. As the old saying goes, be careful what you choose to believe from the internet; and hopefully everyone, including family and the community, can come together with support for Na’ziyah and all other sexually exploited children.

You mean to tell me that before you interviewed the family of this precious, beautiful, innocent girl, you didn’t take the time to watch any news reports to learn how to pronounce her name? You heard them saying her name right and you still said it wrong. The audacity.

This is the only post I will make, and I will not respond to comments. So, apparently, Roxy feels that the interview was meant to slander her. She misconstrued my words as trying to bash her. I was asked a question and answered with my opinion and my perception. I explained the timeline for how things transpired. Then, I also went into how everything went left. Roxy publicly bashed Kewana and I on social media in September of 2024 because she disagreed with how we handled things after working together for over 6 months. I did not engage because I do not do social media drama. As I said, I received death threats, calls to my job, and vandalism to my home. I reached out to her via phone, text, and voicemail before, during, and after the damage was done, but she did not answer or return my calls. By the time she did call, I was past talking and had moved on. I never said Roxy did not play a part in Naziyah’s case; I never said she was not related to Naziyah; I never said she wanted to be in the spotlight or any of the BS she or her followers came up with. But what I did say was I did not want my name in lights; I did not agree with some of her actions after the police told us to stand down and that they had everything that they needed. They even told us that some actions were hindering the investigation. I also disagreed with the GoFundMe account, as I feel we should wait for the conviction to memorialize her. The investigation is still ongoing, and I still have hope that Naziyah or Naziyah’s body is recovered. I'm just not ready to fully accept that she is gone. I did not attend searches because I was actively collaborating with the police or attending to my personal responsibilities. As I said, we were told to stop searches at some point in the investigation. Everyone involved did what they could do when they could do it. I expressed how I felt to Roxy before, so most of how I felt should not have been a surprise to her. Not to deter her from what she was doing but to let you know I would not participate. At the end of the day, we all grown. As of Thursday, after the podcast, Roxy has continued making posts directed towards us. People are once again in my inbox. My contact information has yet to change, but I have not received any contact from her expressing her concerns or asking for clarification. I am too mature to go back and forth with people on social media, trying to defend myself against lies, misconceptions, and made-up fictitious stories and accusations. I spoke my truth, and no one knows precisely what I have done or been through during this ordeal. You only know the bits and pieces I have shared. Children are still in that household, the lies are still being told, the rug is still being swept under, and justice has not been received for Naziyah....This is precisely why I stay in the background and do what I do because of mess like this. I apologize to Deborah for bringing this drama to her platform.
