Norwegian Encore | Day 5 Visiting Ketchikan and a very short stop in Victoria, British Columbia
มุมมอง 3.3Kปีที่แล้ว
Our last two ports of the trip were both on the same day. We walked around Ketchikan and explored the town. While in Victoria, BC we quickly got off the ship and were able to get a few nice views of our boat from the land. This gave us a nice leisure final day on and off-board the Encore.
Norwegian Encore | Day 4 Glacier Bay | Marjerie Glacier, Johns Hopkins Glacier, Lamplugh Glacier
มุมมอง 2.5Kปีที่แล้ว
Glacier Bay may have been one of our favorite days on the Encore. We slowly rolled into cold weather and snow-capped mountains connected by 3 major Glaciers. This day provided us with quite possibly some of the most spectacular views of our week in Alaska.
Norwegian Encore | Day 3 Skagway, AK | Strolling through Town and Riding White Pass Yukon Railroad
มุมมอง 2.9Kปีที่แล้ว
This small town welcomed us with its breathtaking views. Once in Skagway, we hopped aboard the White Pass & Yukon Railway where we enjoyed a leisure ride through the awe-inspiring scenery that awaited us. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Norwegian Encore | Day 2 Juneau Vlog | Mendenhall Glacier and Whale Watching
มุมมอง 2.7Kปีที่แล้ว

Great review! ❤ What balcony stateroom did you have?
Thanks for all the info
I had a great time, the ship was kept immaculate, we enjoyed the food, drinks and entertainment. We saw Mendenhall Glacier and actually used public transport. I'm from England originally so it was second nature to me. Its a pretty long walk to and fro the bus stop though so might not be good for everyone but also a great option to anyone on a budget. I highly recommend Chilkoot Charters for the Yukon Pass excursion! Train ride up and into Canada, bus ride back. Our driver was amazing, she stopped at many scenic spots for pictures and lunch is also provided. Ketchikan we went to the totem place, that was okay, then we walked around town. You don't get much time in Canada, it's a pretty long walk from the dock to the town so I'd recommend a taxi if you want to spend more time there, its a hopping place, tons of people and shops etc, the Palace is neat, all lit up at night. Hope that helps! Also, fyi plan on retuning with Covid! Everyone I've met that went on an Alaskan cruise came back with it, that was the only souvenir I wish I hadn't picked up!! Lol @meenalpa
You two are so down to earth, loved your video and your helpful hints. You talked about footwear, what about socks did you need to buy wool socks too? We are going next May so not sure how cold it could be still then. Thanks for your video!
@@claudiayoung8571 I did buy wool socks at a local outfitter and they were great! We went in May too!
The Local?! If that is the same as the one in Lake Union area in Seattle, then, yes, that place is great )) we are going on an Alaska cruise soon as well )
Thank you for sharing your experiences. We are booked on NCL for late September and your videos were great.
@@vickimcmillian5386 Enjoy!
Did u see any souvenir stainless steel coffee mugs on the ship?
Great video, what month was your cruise.
@@Katiepooh56 we went the end of May.
So sad how much Mendenhall has shrunk since 2011 my first Alaska cruise
Thank you for the tips. Going first week of September, hope it is not always raining and super cold.
We went on this cruise July 2023 and we are scheduled to go again Aug 2024, same ship same itinerary. Loved it that much! It is so worth it!!!!!
We go Aug 18 , with our daughter and her husband ❤️ , can't wait
Hi we’re going to Alaska on Encore next may. We booked a club balcony cabin but can you recommend a good deck location? I believe we have the choice of deck 12,13, or 14.
@@susanhernandez8365 We had our balcony on deck 10. We like midship because the movement felt by the ship is minimized if you are toward center. Honestly I don’t think you could go wrong with any room you pick!
@@TravelingwiththeLs thank you!
What about using a travel sim card that should work for mobile internet shouldnt it?
Would you recommend your hotel as good walking distance for Pike Place & the space needle? Also, did you consider a city pass instead of buying tickets for each venue? We sail on the Encore to Alaska in 2025!
@@Sunny-wd4pl we were straight up the hill from Pike Place which was an easy walk. We did walk to Space Needle too. If you don’t have trouble walking we highly recommend the Grand Hyatt. As far as the Space needle and Chihuly gardens we bought them in a combo pass. They were the two attractions we wanted to do. We highly recommend both these attractions. For the amount of time we had if we would have added something else it would have been too much to get done along with Pike Place and the big wheel.
Walk a short distance from ship to railroad depot and buy your ticket . You’ll save big bucks. I got last minute ticket for $96. NCL now charging $199, which is robbery.
@@atomicrancher3745 that may be true but there are times when the train is sold out and you take the chance of missing out on the once in a lifetime experience on this magnificent excursion.
Juneau. Not Juno.
Thanks for this video! I subscribed! I see it's been a while since you posted; please make more videos. You two are exactly what so many people want when looking for information about a cruise or travel! :) Honest, experienced, and informative!
You all are interesting - and the first people who have actually mentioned a good strength for the binoculars! So Thank you!
Great video! Watched this 3 times!😊
We are so glad you enjoyed it!
Im going in July.
Yay! Have a wonderful trip!
Going in 2025 to Alaska! Yay.....TY
Which side of the train had better views?

New subscriber here! We are cruising to Alaska in September. Thanks for the packing tips!!
Have a wonderful trip! It is gorgeous!
For Encore ,upgrades are available to Haven class,is it worth spending more to avoid the crowds?Or is the crowds in restaurants manageble
We were not in the Haven and didn’t have any issues. The Haven does look pretty awesome though. I guess it depends on how fat your wallet is. 😁
They are stone loungers that heat up
Yes in the spa. They are amazing!
So you can’t book the comedy or the shows on the NCL app? You have to physically walk to the cavern club and where is the cavern club? Do you know what deck or area it is?
Thanks for all your tips. What time is the Beatles Show as I am trying to figure out times for dinner tia
Times vary so check as soon as you board.
Do you mind sharing what month you cruised in?
It was end of May.
Great video! We are traveling in July to Alaska and this video is really good. Plus, the hosts are great!
Awesome! Thank you!
Good info thanks going in May❤
Enjoy your trip!
Hey Guys Good day to you. Just wanted to say Thanks for your awesome video. We have neen on the fence about going to cruise in Alaska. I think after watching your video we are leaning towards going!! Anyway, we will be watching your other Alaska videos.. Thanks for the Great Info. Cheers 🍺🥃🍺
So, seven miles from the city, too far to walk to. Did you book the shuttle for an excursion you took? Or does cruise line automatically take everyone in that far?
You two are the sweetest! Thank you for your videos, they were informative! I’m from Central PA as well but live in Florida for the last 25 years. My sister and I are cruising to Alaska from Seattle in May this year!
You were on a ship, not a boat!😂😂😂
We always take a bag that zips into the pocket. Small in your baggage and ready to use for your return flight full of goodies or laundry.
Hi, can you tell me if it was pretty quick to get off the ship in each step ? thanks
Don’t expect it to be quick make sure you pack your patience. Tip use the back of the boat to exit!
I'm going on this same Alaskan NCL Encore cruise in May. I've really enjoyed all of your videos.

Great video, thank you!!! Looking forward to the BBQ.
Hope you enjoy
Did you purchase train ticket through cruise or on your own?
We purchased through NCL
Great video and love the tips (esp where to sit on the Yukon trail), thank you! What time of the month did you sail (I missed that if it was mentioned)? We are considering either Encore or Discovery Princess. Itineraries are identical but we have 3 teens, so leaning on Encore for more age appropriate entertainment for them. Your review is very helpful, thanks again
We went the end of May.
Hi thank you for your video, VERY HELPFULL! My husband and I are planning a cruise on May, Neither of us drinks a lot of a alcohol but we love coffe and hot tea. What do you recommend on beverage package?
When we went drink package was offered as a free comp. We were happy to have it for soda.
Thanks for sharing your advice. Going to Alaska on NCL Encore in August 25.
Thanks for sharing all the details. Which month did you go? We will sail in early May (going NJ to Seattle) for Encore and wondering if it would be very cold? And would May be already crowded although we chose off-season to beat the crowd. Also, how bad was disembarkation? We had very bad experience in other NCL during disembarkation. And from Seattle, we will have to catch the flight back home
I’m going in August what would you pack ?
Great information...we are going in May to Alaska on the Encore. Your videos are so helpful. I have watched several of your videos multiple times.
We went in May and loved it! Thank you for those kind words. Enjoy your trip!
I am going on the NCL Encore to Alaska in May too. I can't wait.😊
I may have missed it, but what time of year did you travel to Alaska? We are going late October.
We went last May.
@@TravelingwiththeLs thank you!!! :)
Ms L, Can you link which waterproof pants you wore? Thanks

We are also going in Sept 2024. So excited.
Yo'u're welcome! Enjoy your cruise
@@katrinawall3493 Just booked my first Alaskan cruise for end of September on the Encore. Very excited
I’m in the September crew too!
I'm going at the end of September as we'll .
