I’ve read so many varied opinions about the DCT , and that’s why I wanted to ask someone who has real world experience and knowledge about this automatic transmission system. Now I have heard some reports about hard shifting ( when the machine is cold ) as well as the DCT being locked up and not operable , sometimes having to rock the machine in a forward/ reverse direction to get it to shift into gear ?? I don’t know if these are problems that have been addressed by Honda yet or not but I hope so . As far as maintenance goes, is the DCT more costly than a manual ? Is the longevity of the machine as robust and dependable as the manual ? I will be doing some river crossings where I ride ( not real deep but two feet of water ) could that be a problem for the electrical components of the DCT ?

I value a dependable and reliable ATV , low maintenance ( easy to service myself) and build quality for the longevity of ownership . I’m 61 , so I’m not into anything crazy , just a good overall ATV for tooling around on two tracks and trails , hunting / fishing and small chores here in northern Michigan , perhaps the possibility of snow plowing a driveway, nothing major . I’m a little skeptical on the DCT transmission, but I really don’t know much about it other than viewing TH-cam videos here ( I’ve heard good and bad ) but I’ve heard nothing but good about the foot shift manual transmission on the Honda . The Yamaha has great reviews on that Grizzly EPS model , don’t need the XTR or big mud tires , none of that stuff matters to me .

@@davidmazzola7543 Are either of these models available to look at ? I can’t seem to find any of the foot shift models near my location here in northern Michigan, and only a Kodiak SE at one dealership. I’d like to swing a leg over one each to get a feel for them as well .

@NorthwoodsNomad foot shifts are hard to find on the Honda. Foreman period, most of those have to be ordered.

This Deluxe comes with Power Steering and Diff Lock.
