This channel is about my adventures. We are very outdoorsy and love to travel. My wife has a 2017 Tacoma and I have a 1998 Tacoma so there is going to be mod and 4x4 videos for both trucks. We love exploring the less traveled road while also visiting the popular sites that shouldn't be missed. We like being able to be self sufficient, not needing others on our adventures but enjoy other company when the opportunity arises. We enjoy being able to learn how to modify our own trucks when possible and will share how to videos. Overall we are up for any adventure! Thanks for watching and happy adventuring!

Crushing steel drums with atmospheric pressure
มุมมอง 594 ปีที่แล้ว
When life gives you steel drums, use some science to crush them with atmospheric pressure. Put a couple gallons of water in the drum and boil it. cap off the drum and place it in ice water and spray with the hose. Then wait for it to crush. The hotter the barrel and the colder the water, the more the barrel is crushed. Thanks for watching!!!😁

Sick!
Applaud you for wanting to save her, I may have threw in the towel at this point.
Why didn’t you try a bottle of Blue Devil Head Gasket sealant?
Great video. I'm heading there soon in beginning of September. When was your trip and how was the road overall?
We did it in April. It is a easy road. No real obstacles. Just driving over the red rock so its not a fast drive. Have fun!
Oh man, the grandkids would get a kick out of that !
Another cool road to go on would be Mineral Bottom road. It is another road with switchbacks like this!
Nice ride..
Thanks!
Going out here this weekend. I think it'll be dryer than this but it's great to see some of it before we get there. Looked like fun! Subaru gods willing I don't bottom out in my near stock outback too much
You will just have to pick the trails carefully. There is easy to hard plus around this area.
Going to do the exact same thing at the end of August. Any additional navigational suggestions for the dark?
I had a head lamp that was a 1000 lumens. Some of the posts where harder to see than others with the headlamp on high. Some of the posts also had reflective tape on them. Once you are out of the trees and in the boulder field, it goes straight up the ridge line. there is ravines on both sides of the ridge so you shouldn't go down at any point all the way to the top. We had never done it before and it was not that hard following the trail in the dark.
Thanks! That’s really helpful!
Do you still need permit at dark?
@@HellBoyhere yes
@@HellBoyhere Yes. Between April 1 to October 31 you need a permit. You can get them on recreation.gov website. The permit is to limit how many people are on the mountain. When we were headed down there where over a hundred people we past going up and that was a Tuesday.
Noice
Can you camp on these dunes?
Thank you for not playing music over the video. Thumbs up!
These are the ones I wanna put in my 2000 extended cab the 60 40 Seats are uncomfortable and I’d rather have the space in the middle for a custom center console and maybe I’ll have enough room for a extra speaker too
I followed your link from the Corbeau review. 4 years later, do you still recommend these seats? [here's hoping you still youtube regularly]
Yes I still like the seats. They have held up good and still look really nice. I would recommend them still.
Looks like a cool dune area
The dog was having one hell of a good time .
Just an FYI the bolt holes for the rear inside brackets are on the side of the short transmission tunnel…..
Hi, great video
Neat! Two breathers up near the shifters. I wonder where my breathers are with a automatic and transfer case. 🐾
I would think they are in the same general area. They will be at the highest point of the transfer case and transmission. Still haven’t had any issues with the setup.
I didn’t realize there were four breathers and I have done a higher breather on the rear axle into the gas filler compartment.
Cool I have a Australian Cattle dog blue Heeler her name is Jolene and I have a 1995 V6 extra cab 4wd red Tacoma. I was looking at your seat install. I also have a bench seat in gray. I’m in New Jersey.
THIS IS GOLD! Thank for the upload, I've been trying to figure out how to do the 2 under the shifters! 👍
Hi! Did they break in nicely? Are they still comfortable? I'm 5"2 and just bought a Jeep Wrangler! But I'm looking at these to replace it as the ones that came with it kill my back - the lumbar support is so far out.
How much did you air down your tires?
I usually start at 20psi. It is stock rims. I have ran 15 if the sand is super soft. I haven’t had any issues running that pressure on the stock rims.
How did these seats hold up? Are they still providing support?
They are holding up good! They still are supportive and in good condition.
@@jtlclark - Good to know! Thanks. I’m still on the fence about upgrading. Thinking about going with the Corbeau Moab seats for my 2003 Tacoma.
seat brackets are wrong for your model it must be D1104 and D1105 fyi
So maybe this guy had the 60/40 bench style? I have a 98 single cab bench seat
You really should drill those last 2 holes & secure all 4 corners. Being sturdy moving the seat back & forth is a whole lot different then hitting something at 30 mph. You don't want that seat twisting & smashing your head into the a pillar. Seats look good though thanks for sharing!
I have a 98 single can Tacoma also and I just was wondering how long did it take to install the seats and where did you sell the bench seat since I have no storage space in my apartment
It was only a couple hours. I sold it on facebook market place in three days of posting it. Person bought it for an older toyota pickup.
I love the Christmas valley dunes. th-cam.com/users/SpartanRacing43
Hi Jeff, we are interested in this video. We want to push it out to our global media and TV partners through licensing and distribution. Could we email you to discuss further? We have sent an email with the details so let me know if you got it ok
Yes, I would like to discuss it. I did not receive your email. My email address is jeffclark8495@hotmail.com
i'm gonna do this real soon on my '99 taco. thanks for the upload!
Found your video of the sand dunes and came here from there. I'm about to take my totally stock 4Runner to that area. Any tips? Am I a fool? (I'm new at this stuff). Also: Any other sights I need to see while cruising the E Oregon area for the week? Thanks!
My tacoma is stock so you should be good! Just make sure you do not go down any hill in the dunes that you get stuck in a bowl. Get out and look at what is in the bottom and that you can get back out again. carry a shovel. traction boards like max trax work awesome if you get stuck in the sand. Also airing down your tires helps in the sand. I run my around 20 psi and have not had any problems at christmas valley or the coast sand dunes. But you will need to bring a air tank or air compressor to air your tires back up! Fort rock is around that area too but I have not been there yet.
We’re you able to keep it in 4hi or did you have to use low range ?
4hi except once where I got stuck then 4 low to get out and then back into 4 hi.
What's the seatbelt situation like converting from a bench?
Right now I am still using the stock seat belts. The buckles are mounted the the floor and went through the bottom of the bench seat. They are not rigid so they lay down when not in use. At some point I will replace the buckle with something that is more rigid so it stays up right. I just have not found the right buckle yet. When I finally find the right ones I'll put up another video.
How's the comfort on the seats vs stock?
I like the new bucket seats much better than the bench seat. They are much more comfortable. The bench seat that was replaced was pretty worn out though. I mainly replaced the bench seat so my wife could drive the truck with out my knees being in the dash on the passenger side. My wife likes these seats as much as the ones in our 2017 Tacoma.
Yo brotha you from around the area? We’re trying to expand our crew when we go out!!
Yeah I'm from the area! That would be awesome! Always more fun with some more people. How do you want to set up a meet?
@@jtlclark It’s as easy this, my name is codey my number is +1 (971) 804-3360 Shoot me a text so I have yours and when you go out hit me up and when we go out I’ll hit you up we all meet at a location then we head out!!!
Does the single cab come with a trim piece for behind the seats?
I have never seen a single cab that had bucket seats from the factory so I can not answer that. I am thinking about trying to see if the extended cabs have something across the back that I could make work.
Jeffrey Thomas Lee Clark sorry I meant like trim on the actual metal backing behind the seats
@@kevinbarron589 It does not come with anything across the back.
Good stuff
Thanks for watching!
Would you say that these sport seats have a more “truck” feel? The stock seating position in my 1999 Tacoma is terrible. I’m hoping these seats will raise and level the seating position. Thanks!
Blindedbythelight, Yes. The stock bench seat that was in the truck felt like you were sagging down into the seat. These seats definitely make you set a little higher and flatter then the bench seat did.
Where did you get the brackets
DopeScope11 You can go into the corbeau website and find the brackets you need for your application and then google search the part number. I got mine from 4WP.com.
That shoveling got you sweating baaaaadddddd
Hugo I sweat a lot.
When are you going to get tires??
Misael Ramos-Saenz, There are new tires in my near future!
you notice a change in height?
slowkidatpay42 They seem to be the same height as the bench seat.
Hey thanks for the video, really appreciate it. have you had any problems with this since you have done it?
SteezerZimmer I have not had any issues so far. After two months I checked the trans and transfer case and the hoses where still firmly clamped on.
Did you ever replace seatbelts?
phxamigo No I’m still using the ones that were in it with the bench seat.
How much did all of this cost, very I terested
heres a link to the seats themselves, between 600-1000 for a set depending on what material you choose corbeau.com/sport-seat.html im not sure about the brackets themselves though
The seats I have are cloth so they are around 650 for the pair. I found them on sale on 4wheelparts.com for 530. The brackets are 125 each. I spent just under 800 for all of it. I looked around at junk yards for used seats out of subarus and 4runners to install but they wanted 150 per seat and I would have to make a bracket work so I just went ahead and bought the new ones.
yea im 6'3 and i like cute little short curvy chicks myself,i am doing a build i bought a 2005 chevy blazer and i bought a engine out of a 2011 chevy hd2500 its called a L96 6.0 its 360 hp & 380 fpt.i needed some seats so i bought racing seats and omg im a big guy with really broad shoulders,i have to wear mens big & tall shirts cause of my shoulders so m having to send the seats back so i bought a set of these after googling racing seats for big guys,i got the ones with vinyl on the sides and cloth in the middle ive never had that before, but yea im pretty excited glad to hear they are comfy for a tall dude,so hell yea thanks for the video, wish i lived up in your area,im tired of the texas heat but oh well, and omg the girls here are stuck up little you know whats, damn lol later enjoy your seats i know i will,i'll be glad when my engine swap is complete and i can stomp on the pedal to the right haha later
onewheelup I almost moved to Texas but the heat would kick my butt! I’m a cold weather person. Your project sounds awesome! At some point I want to swap in a bigger engine into this little Tacoma. And straight axel it. But that will have to wait for a while. Thanks for watching my video!
How much Taller are these than stock?
Skyler Nikolas They are not any taller then the bench seat that was in from the factory.
Is there places to turn around once you start the trail?
Josh Arevalo, most of the trails are only 1/4 to 1/2 mile long. In between them are nice gravel roads, so you can get back to where you started from with having to backtrack the trail. Some of the trails have areas where you could turn around and some don’t. www.oregon.gov/ODF/Recreation/pages/MotorizedTrails.aspx is the website where you can get a free map of the trails. You can also go to the Tillamook forest visitor center can they have OHV maps for the area also. We were on the moderate trails at browns camp.
Can you post some links to all this stuff in the comments?
Kyson Spencer sorry for the long time to reply. I ordered both the brackets and seats from 4Wp.com. www.4wheelparts.com/p/corbeau-sport-reclining-seats-pair-black-cloth-90001pr/_/R-GLCD-90001PR
i have 1997 tacoma with stock buckets, will the brackets work?
Forestsoft, I have no idea on that. You could probably email corbeau and see what they say.
