There is AM on the BMW ? How do you get to it ?
Cycle the SRC button to bring up the FM then push and hold down the Mode button and AM should come up. Do it again and the WB will show and again and you're back to FM. While on the WB there are 7 stations to choose from, to step through those, to find the strongest one in your area, rock the wonder wheel side to side. FYI some areas don't have access to any of these WB stations and if so they may come in with a lot of static. Thanks for watching.

For a future purchase, I'm leaning towards the Trac-Vac mostly because Agri-Fab doesn't have one which can hook up to the rear PTO of a compact tractor. The person behind the Sassafras Valley channel has a PTO 580 for a smaller Kubota BX.
Those are rare around here. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I just purchased a 2004 FJR about a week ago from the original owner. Im 6'3" and 220 lbs and so far I'm liking it more than i thought I would. My only gripe so far is the seat, it isn't comfortable at all. Im looking for something taller with better cushion if anyone knows of one? I want to take some longer trips on this bike, as it is I'm wanting to stop riding after an hour or so.
The aftermarket seat on mine was minimally better. It seems if the sides of my butt are not supported then I'm always uncomfortable. The older I get the more severe. This wasn't as big an issue 35 years ago, LOL. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
@JSProjectWild i can relate to what you're saying, I turned 62 last Sunday, my brain isn't accepting what my body is telling it! Maybe my seat is just fine on my bike and something else is the problem? Those big comfy Goldwings are starting to make a lot more sense! I think I'm going to try a Laam seat on the FJR, some of those seem to address exactly what you mentioned.
@@goldentrunnell7450 It definitely is the seat that is the issue on the sport tourers that I have owned. I had never heard of Laam seats and just checked out his website and wow, very impressive and prices look totally fair IMO. Almost every seat of his has the side supports that are lacking on most factory seats---except Goldwings. My thought was man, maybe I should order a seat for my Concours 14 before everybody reads this and he gets all backed up from the new orders but then reality kicked in when I remembered how ridiculously small my channel is, LOL. Had to edit this because I forget to thank you for mentioning Laam Seats!
@JSProjectWild I have to tell you, I just got off the phone with Seth Laam, he's setting up a production date to do my seat. Give him a call, very confident you won't be disappointed after talking with him. I will be getting mine back in about 6 weeks, even though he's getting to the "slower" part of his season he's still busy and does a LOT of seats. I'll report back here and let you know the results. BTW, he mentioned he was doing a seat today for a Concourse, give him a call and get a production date for yours!
@@goldentrunnell7450 The issue I have is deciding to keep a bike long enough to justify spending the money on a seat upgrade 😁. Sounds like you'll get to try out your new seat before X-Mas. Yes, please let us know how it works out for you.
All BMW,s touring bikes have had self cancelling indicators since 1984. Cancelling can be altered in diagnostic to either 5 seconds or 15. Yours seems to be set for latter
Good to know!
Just found your channel, I'll go check out your other videos. I'm torn between fjr & F6b "goldwing light". No matter which one I get my bike budget requires that they will probably be between 2012 and 2018. Thoughts? Comments?
I have never ridden an F6B but if I remember right, they are only about 70 lbs. lighter than a full-blown wing. I like my 2012 Concours 14 much better than my 2015 FJR and it had cruise. The 14 is less top heavy, more power and more comfy, but that's just me and other folks will feel the opposite of course. Thanks much for watching and taking the time to comment!
My 2012 has enough power if I need it. I just love the sound of this engine vance

I am going in tomorrow to hopefully test ride a 2014 with a few mods done to it (large trunk with backrest, extended handlebars, etc). I do not think that it has the ECU flash which is a high priority since I live on the grid and it made a world of difference to the jerkiness of my VN1700 Nomad's (which I am selling) throttle but I will be lucky to get a month of riding out of it before the nasty Sask prairie snow falls; Saving the ECU flash for early next year.
Bet you buy it or one like it after the test ride😉. Thanks for commenting, ride safe!
@@JSProjectWild I have a terrible habbit of rambling so I deleted most of my comment. Things did not go according to plan but the dealership laid out a possible solution that I will check out next week.

great info on the leaks thank you... I was wondering if I could ask you a quick question on the clutch hose, I have just had to order a new clutch hose for my 2009 gtr1400, but I have had to buy the gen 2 hose because they don't make the gen 1 hose any more, the gen 2 hose for 2010 onwards bikes is in 2 parts, and I was wondering if you could tell me when you look at the left front side of the head stock area, does the gen2 gtr hose bolt up to it?,, on the gen 1 original hose its 1 piece and it just has the thick wire in that area keeping it inplace. any help would be great thank you.
On my 2012 there is about an 8-inch hose that goes from the clutch cylinder down to a block on the handlebar mount. Then a 12-inch hose that goes to another block on the frame in front of the fuel tank. Then from that block it is hard lined going under the fuel tank. Hope that info helps.
@@JSProjectWild great thank you, and thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Riding the same year and color GL1800 as you. The prior owner installed a Baggershield two--piece windshield that converts into a half shield by flipping the top section. First mod was to install Baker air wings and hand wings to eliminate the buffering and allow for customizable air flows. To fix the speedometer issue, I use a Garmin to display GPS speed. Goldwing is the daily rider. Running both a Vmax 1200 and a VMAX 1700 for the need for speed.
I also run a Garmin. Rode my 2012 Kawa Concours 14 yesterday, loved it. I switch between the Wing and Connie. I consider both my daily riders. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!🦾🦾
Only bike I purchased off the showroom floor was a 1981 Kawasaki LTD 1000. Three speeding tickets within six months and I lost my driver's license. Loved that bike! Had to get a Harley to slow me down.
Man, I can totally relate to that. Thanks for commenting!!!
I've got an '82 1000 LTD for sale if you want to relive your glory days...
@@DaveChagnon-xu7li Interesting, I have been checking the ads for one. Did the 1982 models have fork boots? I have 4 motorcycles now. Two are Gen1 Vmax 1200 and a Gen2 VMAX 1700. Gen 2 is 200 horsepower, so I'm a bit spoiled.
MY family and I have owned different type of BMWs.... none of us would recommend them. Hondas are easy to work on and aren't that expensive to maintain.
I think for some folks the fun associated with a BMW is not worth the possibility of a drained bank account, for others it is. Thanks much for watching and for commenting!
How tall are you?
6'0"
@@JSProjectWild Thank you. I've been looking at either the FJR or the Concours 14. Can't decide. I'm 6'2" about 250lbs, and I have an hour+ commute each way daily. I test rode an 06 FJR and it seemed fairly comfortable. Hard to say though since it was only maybe a 20 minute ride.
@@aaronorens9173 I have a 2012 Concours now and it fits me better than the FJR but no electronic cruise. However, if I had an hour commute and on the open road, it'd be the Wing, hands down. Thanks!
@@JSProjectWild Yeah, I had a 94 goldwing, but it got crushed under a building in a freak snow storm unfortunately. Loved the bike. I'm in california and I like to split lanes, the goldwing is a bit more cumbersome to do that on lol. I also ride through some canyons for half of my commute, so there are twisties in there. I'm so indecisive haha
I have a 2012 concours. Every time I ride it I have a smile on my face. No problem with letting gas off and on . Actually I think the traction control system makes it a smooth bike on a curb. It wouldn't let you make a mistake. That's my opinion
Thx great review, quite balanced. One correction on the 2nd gear recall. Yamaha restored the original 2nd gear tune after all the complaints. Dealer will restore ECU if you want. My deal breaker’s were cruise control, and regular gas. I added to my 16 ES, 1 inch risers, gel seat honeycomb topper, Yam tour windshield with a winglet on top. Givi v47 top case with the givi rack, FOBO2 TPMS, pressures 42/42 for Dunlop RS 3’s Enjoy the ride!!
Thanks for the info! Some folks won't like me saying this, but I enjoy my 2012 Concours 14 much more than my 2015 FJR, even without electronic cruise control which I never thought I'd say. The abundance of torque makes it easy to manually maintain speed. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment!!! 🦾
