I have personally moved on to Reforger due to a lot of reasons, but even then am moving on to game development. Should I post what I'm doing there? I'm thinking UE5 Steam Upload. I haven't decided on what type of game I'm going to make. Only requirements so far are, in order: 1. Fun Gameplay Loops 2. Be Popular 3. Don't Go Hungry Should be simple enough (with zero experience). If I fail miserably, that's good content!

Try disabling the controller in the Arma controls settings. Then it should show up as customizable

Must be plugged in, and enabled in ARMA 3. There are some steam settings in the video series as well if there are issues maybe check there to make sure to disable Steam override. Then, make sure you hit REFRESH in ARMA 3 Controllers, it should pop up at the top.

If it's not there, try hitting REFRESH at the bottom. Even with my settings done every time I want to play I make sure the game has recognized the controller (and track IR - same issue).

I am not sure if it works on MAC :(

unfortunately must be plugged in, at least as far as I am aware. no way to receive the signal otherwise.

I ended up using my bumpers for fire / zoom and the triggers for other things. It's a pain I haven't figured out yet.

So ive been struggling for over 2 years now almost trying to do a preset for my xbox series s and steam controllers but usualy what ive done is set the triggers with the mouse buttons the only problem ive run into with that is regardless of holding down my LT or just pressing it , it activates ADS (aim) either way its a hassle at times but im hoping after watching this then ill beable to finally start playing some campaigns and create my own campaign on editor and that fancy zeus also (with keyboard and mouse of course) but play it with controller as i can not comprehend keyboard and mouse gameplay plus i have to do one for arma2 and arma gold 😅

Ensure it's plugged in as ARMA won't recognize it otherwise (that I know of). Make sure your drivers are up to date for the controller if it's not a name brand like XBOX / PS5. Check Steam Settings. ***Usually the problem is just that in ARMA you don't hit "Refresh" at the bottom. It should pop up if it's a valid controller.***

Hold actions aren't really a thing in ARMA as much when programming custom keys. However, I've found using 'button combos' is the best way. Such as pushing Select+A is a different keybind than Select+B, or just A. You can use button combo's really effectively if you think about it. You might make Left Bumper Zoom in, but Left Bumper + Start Button = Tactical Ping, as an example. This way you're already zooming in on the target you're pinging. I don't think everyone will like my controls, but it's a starting point for most of the flight controls itself at least. Spend the time setting it up in a way that is intuitive for you and you will definitely see the payoff. I spent a good month tweaking my binds and now I never even think about it and I could rebind it pretty quick. If I was REALLY goin to pursue HOLD ACTIONS, I would probably find a way to edit my Controller Config in the text editor. Documents>Arma3 Other Profiles>your name config Adjust your FOV. Some reports of the controls showing up but not working until they are bound by player. Essentially if this happens you will have a ghost of my controls and you just copy them over.

It can be done on controller. What I do personally is get a gunner or use lock on munitions. How to do it just to program gun look stuff in Weapons. Then when you're in the gun it will allow you to use your look thumbstrick (I assume) to move the camera. Might want to configure a button to lock the camera as well. I would recommend B or swapping out a thumbstick click function like 3rd person r click thumbstick.

What step did it stop working, or did it not work at all? If it works, but you can't customize it. Make sure you disabled the default scheme. 1:31 Default is in the lower box, make sure that's disabled if it is enabled. Make sure the "Customizable Controllers" above has Xbox enabled for customization. If it doesn't work and you couldn't see the controller, make sure it's plugged into your PC. Make sure you don't have Steam overriding it. 0:13 If that's not the issue, I will make a third video about the XBOX Accessories App. There you can update your controller and fine tune things like back paddles. Also make sure the cord is good, and you don't have conflicting apps.

How can I use the same button with 2 functions like crouch and prone?

@@tomillopeludoperez4173 crouch you have to make it one tap prone you have to set it as hold on that same button but my controls are different still I have to go to steam and set my controller up and it’s hard I can’t figure out the sub command how to set them up
