Damn shame I can't find the Eddie Hinton version of this on TH-cam

as greatness becomes legend, this version of YDLM with the tribute ad lib that the band inserted in the middle of the song is STUNNING!. The delicate soulfulness that Duane transfers to his friend Curtis' song is tender yet fiery up to the solemn church chords that Dickey recites in a dignified and reflective sequence that is a Betts signature. Then on to the blazing train ride out and a soaring Joy To The World coda puts an exclamation point on this gem.

Hey Drunken Hearted , man I can't believe I have not heard these songs so I thank you very much for this upload . I have been in the music industry in one form or another from sound tech and lighting for many bands from Muscle Shoals up the Mississippi into Ohio back down to anywhere you know to be a music town . Also I ran sounds for several local bands while tryin to get them in the rite hands to further there writing songs and many had some top quality players . I have Duane Allman's anthology on reel to reel and any other projects he was involved in , this album has many songs I've never knew existed since I've heard others talk about these recorded songs but never heard . So once again I can't thank you enough and already updated my Allman Brothers songs ,peace be witcha man !!!

This version on Eat A Peach would of made it most difinitive.

Listening to this with the bass added I can't help but wonder if this was a nod to Hot Tuna?

So much added “Bottom” to this because of Berry!!! We all know how important he was to the Brothers, and this shows it!

GOOD GOD, how many times can i listen to this? ABSOLUTELY have to play air-guitar, dance, and sing. a RAW masterpiece.

I know there have been a lot of great acoustic guitar tunes over the years. For me, the "Holy Trinity" includes this song, Embryonic Journey by the Jefferson Airplane, and Anji by Davy Graham (or the Simon & Garfunkel version.)

The Allman Brothers were the only jam band who could maintain tension over a 20+ minute performance. No one comes close. As great as Duane and Dickey were, this is because of how they employed the rhythm section while they were jamming. The Dorsey Bothers, Benny Goodman, and Duke Ellington would have loved this

This is one of the greatest acoustic instrumental songs ever written, and to me, is much nicer than the version on Eat a Peach. Many thanks for posting this. Now all I need is the tabs.....
