I’m glad you liked the jam. The table is an actual table, not made of cardboard. People have made some interesting comments on these videos but “get a table” was not one I would’ve expected, so kudos to you for surprising me!

I understand that desire for sure, but I’m not sure the op-1s hardware would work super well with the op-z sequencer. If they managed to integrate it somehow though it could be incredible

I do. I think it’s great to sample the OP-1 into the m8, and to use it to jam over m8 tunes. EDIT after reading the manual I discovered that everything I say next is wrong! One downfall to consider is that the m8 doesn’t do midi over USB, so to use the OP-1 as a midi controller (or vice versa) you have to get a midi hub.

You can make lots of types of music with the m8, but the tracker workflow and internal synths make it easy to make chiptune/8bit, synth wave, techno, and idm music. If you look through my channel I have other vids with the m8, I would suggest you watch my video ivory_hacker as it showcases the internals synths. As for best learning device? Either could work, but if you’re new to not only electronic music but music in general m8 could be challenging. OP-1 could be better, but is really expensive for a first piece of kit. The novation circuit tracks could be a good start

@@Monsterism I sampled myself singing a note in a falsetto, set the sampler to loop and added a bunch of the mother reverb

Thank you so much! I would say I prefer the SP404, it can do a lot more than the Lofi-6. That said, I really have been enjoying the Lofi-6, it just has a much more limited sound palette.

The EP can be triggered and recorded via midi, you could do this with the op1 but you would need to get the midi out from the OP1 from usb, to a midi hub or computer, then sent to the EP. You essentially need a third device acting as an intermediary
