What is the Message of the Whole Bible? (Canon, the Covenants, the Christ)
What is the message of the Bible as a whole? This brief discussion of this big question focuses on the canonical context of the biblical writings, the grand storyline that is marked by covenant relationships, and the priority and supremacy of Jesus as the Christ. These three elements (the canon, the covenants, and the Christ) provide us with a framework for biblical theology that informs each biblical book and helps us understand the rich collection of central themes that are developed by the biblical authors.
For a further defense of this way of approaching the message of the Bible, see chapters 1-3 of the book Invitation to Biblical Theology (Kregel, 2020).

What's up nerds?
The only criticism of this video that I have to offer is his form in the dap. He just went into it and it was in no way casual. I give this video a 9/10 on the neat-o-meter
it will take years to recover from this criticism
Ahhh but he forewarned his audience by an oddly long pause and glance directly at our souls through the camera. I feel as though this was sufficient build-up to an all together strange ending of an even more oddly glorious work of cinematic creativity.

You ask the question of Christology as if you knew all the answers! But this is not possible because a lot of information is not in the Bible and some of it is misinterpreted! You only have «Introdution to Christology». «God became man so that man can become God» Wolfgang Smith Now, what in the world does Wolfgang Smith mean by that? Good question!
very nice, thank you
I’m non-committal
If the hypostatic union is correct, and there is no division between the human nature and divine nature in Christ, then he should have known the time of his return, which he said he didn't know. But Scripture shows us he was indeed God in the flesh, the Logos (Word) made into a man. But "being found in the form of a man" meant he no longer had his miraculous attributes of deity. In fact, Jesus states that his miracles were from the Father, who was in him and he in the Father. That would mean he still had the spiritual identity as the Word of God, but now made a man, doing miracles by the Holy Spirit, the Father dwelling in him. So he was and always is divinity. But he did not have the miraculous attributes of his own deity. This is also how he grew in wisdom.

“What we say about Christ impacts what we say about everything else. What we believe about Jesus impacts everything about us” 👋👋👍👍
Powerful comment, I wish to read the book you have read❤

Fantastic message!
What's up, nerds
Just recently discovered Gathercole. Really happy to find this interview, as I'm interested in getting this book!
Dr. Smith better feel called out by this 🤣
You get it
Shots fired @Dr. Marsh
😂 Dr. Marsh rocks the pastel purples like no other, so he’s immune to this standard
I have been looking for the original source material underpinning Soteriology and guess what......there isn't any. Paul makes a big deal about it and thats about it. Jesus? Not so much.😊
This is my formal request to receive assignment feedback in this format; great work, very engaging! Haha.
I grant this comment 5 gold stars.
I think more people would go to lectures if there were lofi tracks that I could chill and listen to.
The trinity doctrine is just an invented, CONVENTIONAL doctrine. From a philosophical point of view it's a nonsensical theory, worthless. It's also directly contrary to the Jesus' clear words: indeed Jesus declares to be NOT almighty and to be just in the company of the Father, not with Father and Holy Spirit. The trinity "inventors" didn't realize that the SPIRIT OF GOD simply is "GOD (almighty) WHO IS A SPIRIT". This means that no third divine person exists.

He's right. It does.
Some deep theological content here. Plus, that dab is wicked 🤣

Nooooo! Not the dab!!! 😂😂
I really committed too; no way to walk it back
Very good!
Man began by sinning, forcing God to curse Paradise; Then God (Christ), who had nothing to do with our sin, came to save us so that we could live again in Paradise. And what have we done to be worthy of enjoying the delights of Paradise? There is something in this story that lacks logic, coherence... I´m sorry, but that´s the way I see it!
A brilliant account of things that didn't happen.
Nice one
Excellent video
Yes, but do you believe that Jesus is God? Because Jesus is God! Jesus is the Word, and in the beginning was the Word and The Word was with God and the Word Was God…
I appreciate that fans love their fictional books but this carried too far. Y'all need to find a new hobby and do something useful to do with your lives. There is no credible evidence for God or Christ. Sorry, there just isn't.
There is perhaps minor evidence for Christ as part of an insurrectionist group that wrapped itself in the myths of extant faiths in the region. On the g/God side though, it's the same evidence base as exists for FSM.
I believe there's a high power but maybe not Jesus
Great Insight Of Truth
Beautiful presentation, well done! I like how the points you made were simple and easy to understand.
Me when it’s gonna be a great semester
Well said.
Thank you Dr. Spellman, this helped me understand the Trinity in ways I could never have imagined. I intend to make many dank sizzlin Trinity memes in MS paint. Thank you for your years of service to the TH-cam community and I cannot wait for the 20 years later update and the 1000 subscriber special. You are an inspiration.
Thanks for putting this together, Ched. I was fun discussing this with you!
Thank you sir for this great work and description of the nature of Christ. I'm just beginning in my understanding of Christology and found this video to be a great "crash course on The subject. God bless you.
Hey Ched! This is a really great video you made, I posted it to my FaceBook page! I'm spending July to December this year, the second half, in a near full time intensive study of Christology, The Gospels, and the Person, Life, Works, and Words of Jesus Christ. A Biblical, historical, systematic, and literary study. The first of eight half year independent studies in a seminary content sequence. This was one of the first TH-cam Christology videos I watched, and I found you made as many strong true points in 6-7 minutes as someone else did in over an hour. I took as many notes on your video as theirs. This was a very well composed and delivered video, TED like in quality and significance. I'm wondering what prompted you to create and produce this? Was it like a project for a seminary class or what was your motivation if more /other than simply telling us how important Christology is. Thanks for making this video. I'll review it often. YES wonderful presentation. God Bless you.
