Another religous recovery program

Traditional therapy has always failed me. Even when I got Baker acted. I saw my doctor for about 5 minutes a day. He was clearly only in it for the money. The rest of the day the nurses and other staff members just basically said that they couldn’t do anything without my doctor present. So as you can imagine 5 minutes out of 24 hours didn’t do squat. What really helped, was just being there. Literally doing nothing but sitting around and talking. It’s was even less organized than celebrate Recovery. I didn’t come out healed, but I did get a break from the Bully co-worker I had at work. This co-worker reminded me of my narcissistic family and that’s when the real work began. I had a lot of trouble reacclimating to the real world again, but no one would take my into a long term facility. In addition, my husband needed help paying the bills so I had go back to work. As a substitute teacher, I dropped that long term assignment, against my husband’s wishes because if they were going to hire me full time, they probably already would have. I also prayed that God would give me something in mylife like being Baker acted, while I began working again. That’s when I started going to my new church which eventually introduced me to Celebrate Recovery. I think it’s what church is meant to be anyway.

Just received my eight year coin.only program that worked for me. I was ready this time for change and over time I was able to accept the same path from others before me.hardest part is walking thru the doors for the first time.insanity is thinking you can do this on your own. I am will always be a work in progress but I am free of life's hurts and habits .what a burden that was lifted from my life. Love your definition of humility. Try cr.and work the steps.we all have a story and basically in the same boat.i have met the best of friends.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for their kind comments. We've gotten a lot of feedback over the last 4 years and it seems to be a blessing to many. You can still request the files. Thanks Jan, I have received and experienced amazing healing from over 40 yrs of hurts, habits and hang-ups and witnessed healing by others over the last 15+ years in CR. God is amazaing and an awesome healer and provider and anyone who WANTS to be healed can be if they just make the effort and follow His plan.
