Thank you! One of the best ways I have found to read (especially larger works) is to look at the table of contents and map out in a notebook what pages and how many pages you are to read every day in order to finish in X amount of time. I don't know if that makes any sense or not or even if that helps answer your question, but that's what I like to do to help myself finish what I'm reading. God bless, Davis

Looks great! I may record a library tour of my own, slightly smaller library and post it on the discord eventually, but we'll see. Because I rent a bedroom, the vast majority of my reading is digital, but some books, in my opinion, deserve the respect of being read in a physical copy (unless they're rare/out of print lol.) Much of my collection are those books.
Happy new year! Below are the books on my list to read this year. Seminary will be assigning me a BUNCH of books to read, but these are the ones I will be doing outside of classes. I am trying to branch out from pure theological reading in my free time to literature that is interesting to read, informative, or both: - Les Tragiques by d'Aubigné (it's an epic poem on the Huguenot persecution in the 1500s) - The Works of Hugh Binning - Christ Drawing Sinners Unto Himself by Rutherford - Augustine of Hippo: A Biography by Brown - The Works of Robert Traill - The Pastor of Kilsyth by Burns - Creation and Change by Kelly - Nathaniel Hawthorne's Short Stories - Amusing Ourselves to Death by Postman (and maybe The Shallows by Carr) - The Everlasting Man by Chesterton - Foxes' Book of Martyrs - The Gulag Archipelago by Solzhenitsyn (probably the abridged edition) - The Odyssey - How to Read a Book: Advice for Christian Readers by Naselli - Some Shakespeare play (haven't decided yet)

Hi- New Subscriber here! 🎉 I purchased Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology eons ago, and will pull it out and read through it. You mentioned something about Wayne Grudem's beliefs on the Spiritual Gifts -- What are his beliefs about the Spiritual Gifts? Interested in knowing. 😊
Thanks for subscribing! He is a continuationist which means he believes that all the gifts (like speaking in tongues) still exist today. Beliefs like that aren't the end of the world, but I would rather read someone who holds to a more traditionally reformed belief. He gets into that more in his Systematic. Hope that helps! The Christian Church is the most diverse and inclusive organisation on the planet.

It definitely is. I did that intentionally, actually. I could spend the rest of my life not even scratching the surface of the great theology of the Reformed Tradition. I don't really know why I would fill my library with other viewpoints thus making it harder to master any of them. Like Dr. Matthew Everhard said in my recent interview with him, "If you like reading a certain type of thing, by all means read it!" I do read things that I disagree with, I just don't purchase them and store them on my shelves. Thanks for watching! God bless, Davis

New edc Bible? I have a Schuyler in Saddle Brown Calfskin as well. Which model and translation do you have?
I don't typically carry that one. I use it in the morning, but it just sits on the table. It's the Treveris in Tuscany. I got it in KJV because my EDC is the ESV Crossway Heirloom Legacy from Evangelical Bibles. Which model do you have? God bless, Davis

Question, 2:35 why are you giving people recommendations on what to read? If ultimately they are just going to react to God’s immutable decree decree. ( Westminster Confession of Faith, chapter 5 section 1) Doesn’t the very idea of your video presuppose that people have libertarian free will to freely choose what books they want to read. Which is not compatible with the Westminster confession of faith? (Or at least Historical Calvinism)
