This the smaller brother to the 1100. Restored from a wreck, the 750 is a lot of fun. It's now run-in and this video is me stretching its legs a little bit on the local road from the nearest beach.

The Kat 750 is run-in after the rebuild and carb tuning. Mounted the GoPro on the chin bar of the new Caberg Duke II helmet. Filmed a short ride to the beach and back . Here is a snippet.

After final minor tasks the rebuild is complete. The work was finished on Easter Sunday 2023, "which seems fitting in it's way" (to quote Nick Cave). First start and rides included in the video. Before I began this bike was 'Ginger Tom' but the local licensing authorities gave me a tag with "PEG" on it. So 'Peg' it is. Serendipity, perhaps. Beautiful bikes, Sexiest design ever!. So much character. Lovely torquey motors, even in top gear. I have a 1986 GSX1100EF with 71884 kms on it. Love it to bits. Big padded sit on all day seat lazy motor not one of these high revving motors now days.

I've had a bone stock 1000cc version SXZ for 25 years. I can't feel my fingers after about 50 miles. Beautiful bikes!

what gearing? mine is around 4000 at 100kph, assuming either the tacho and/or speedo are correct
howd you go sourcing parts? i wanted to do an original resto, but given the prices of replacement parts (full seat $$$$$$) ill probably end up building it into a cafe racer for a fraction of the price i have a "barn find" 650g with a genuine 1100km on it, but pretty much everything rubber or plastic including the loom has perished because its been sitting for nearly 30 years..
Hi there, the bike was mostly all there. Other resto's I've done, I used these guys japan.webike.net/oem_parts/top/ You'd be surprised what you can still get and the prices even with freight aren't too bad.
I had the 1100ESD - very slightly refined relative to the Katana. Amazing bike. Took off like a rocket even in top gear. Fairly easy on the gas too, if you were just cruising. Modern engines don't seem to have that tractor-gutsiness of the old bikes, nor the buzz.
Hey Malcolm, a riding buddy of mine had an ESD. Blue and pearl, black engine, frame-mounted fairing. A real grunt machine as you say. A better bike than the 16" front wheel models that followed.
I had one a long time ago....best bike ever!! Did 554000 km on her. Had to sell her for pregnant wife...
