In this video, I will talk you through the workflow principles which require the Text Input of SOFiSTiK. Besides the model creation, the workflow consists of two steps: - Definition of the Non-Linear Temperat...
Rotate loads around a structural point using the Text Input in SOFiSTiK
มุมมอง 7262 ปีที่แล้ว
Defining loads in the graphical interface SOFiPLUS is a simple task. However, if there is a need to create not only a few loads but several according to a particular pattern, it gets a bit time-consuming. Not to mention maintaining them afterwards. Therefore, it is great that SOFiSTiK offers the text input to simplify such a task with a few input lines. This video will teach you how to utilise ...

Thank you very much! That video is excellent. Could you please share the TEDDY file of [template] used for the graphic view mentioned at 10:00 in the video?
Thanks a lot
Thanks for the video. Can we have a something similar for walls as well?
Is it possible to do a (transient) thermo-mechanical analysis and instead compute the temperature distribution based on some ambient temerature?
Thank you for the video
YOu can find further tutorials and information about the SOFiSTiK Bridge + Infrastructure Modeler here: sofistikforyou.com/bridge-modelling-in-autodesk-revit-with-sofistik/
Many thanks
Thank you! Do you know how i can input excentricities in local sysem? With EZA, EZA it is in the global one!
Thank You so much , please keep up the good work
Thank you!
Hi Guido, great video. Could you please upload the "Temperature Visualization" script? As checking the temperature along the cross section is not currently possible in Sofistik, the script that you have created is a good workaround. Thanks in advance!
kindly is there any way to do modelling through gstarcad or tekla structures ? Instead Of Autocad
Hi, there is now interface to gstarcad nor one to trkla structures. However, you could use Grasshopper to create the geometry/analytical model for Tekla and SOFiSTiK. Both, Tekla and SOFiSTiK provide Grasshopper components.
Thank you Guido! Great explanation and demonstration as always. It surprises me that SOFiSTiK does not have any built-in visualization for thermal gradient input. I am curious about one thing (well, I should've tried it out myself before asking, but maybe your explanation can help other users): In this example, we are defining some of the reference points along the left web of the cross section and the others at the centerline, would this definition also generate non-linear temperature distribution in the transverse direction? Or, does SOFiSTiK always only consider the non-linear distribution in the vertical direction?
Great question. I would also ask whether the points must be in an edge, or they could be anywhere inside the section (including holes). Thank you Guido, and looks great the script that generates the report visualization.
Hi, Thanks for your feedback and question. Honestly, I haven't tried it my self to place the points outside the cross-section/material. Will give it try when I'm back in office ;) The distribution is always vertical. So it doesn't matter if you place the points on the left or right web. I should have mention it in the video - So thanks again for the question!
Hi @@benitopelaez2417 and Guido, I tried once to define a reference point along the centreline of a steel-concrete composite box girder, using Teddy though. When running the AQUA module the software stopped and said there was some error. So, yes, probably we must make sure the points are within the defined polygon/solid.
One of my colleagues suggested another input option without using explicit points in the cross-section. Basically, you assign the temperature value by an eccentricity. www.sofistik.de/documentation/2022/en/tutorials/bridge-design/composite-bridge/composite-bridge-nl-temp.html
Thank You. Hope you are booking profits for your work.
Thanks DSK!
Hi Guido, one more question, is it possible to generate a temperature profile in Graphic or Results?
The temperature profile needs to be defined in SOFILOAD. There is no harm in creating an excel sheet to generate the necessary CADINP input if you have to do it more frequently. The visualisation of the assigned temperature is only possible in SOFISTK Visualisation.
Very interesting! Is it possible to do the same thing in beam elements?
Yes, you can assign a non-linear temperature to beams/cross-sections. However, the workflow us a bit different. Basically, the temperature gets assigned to points within the cross section.
@@SOFiSTiKFORYOU Hi Guido, thank you for your explanation. Does it mean that we cannot directly assign different temperature in beam elements using the "z" value? But rather we must use predefined points in the cross section?
Yes, this is correct. To assign the temperature, points (geometry points or stress points) are required. The temperature values can then get applied in SOFILOAD and the BEAM command. Will publish a video on the workflow soon 😉
Explaining that with a video would be a great idea!
@@SOFiSTiKFORYOU Thank you! I look forward for the new video.
Useful video! Thanks!
Very nice! Guido, what is the purpose of using +prog template at the very end of the video? Does it makes any difference if you define variables inside another module?
Hi, you could use any programme module you want to define the global variables. The advantage of the temple programme module is that it doesn't perform analysis, design, or anything else like that. That's why I prefer using it for the definition of system parameter inputs.
Fantastic video 👍🏼
Hi, thank you very much!
very good tutorial
Hi, thanks for the video. I am a user of Brazilian softwares and the workflow is very different. I'm trying to understand Sofistik: 1- Sofistik is an independent software where we have all the workflow within it; 2- but it can also be an extension for Revit (or Autocad). As an extension, the workflow is not 100% within Revit. For example, System Visualization is not in the Revit environment, it is a different software. If I buy the Revit extension what would my workflow be like? Will I have access to System Visualization? Also, does it have other functions that don't work within Revit? Are my questions pertinent or did I get it all wrong? I really liked the videos that I saw Sofistik working, but there are a lot of products and the workflow is not clear to me. I'm really confused. I would also like to know the prices. Thanks for your help, my e-mail: acmprojetos@gmail.com.
Thank you!
Thanks great presentation. can you hold maybe a presentaion about prestressed precast concrete girders for a railroad bridge? It'd be great!
Great job Guido. Keep it up! Dankeschön. Vielen lieben Dank für deine Hilfe :)
Thnank you for you blog and the videos on TH-cam! Can we expect the publication of a more detailed description for Incremental Launching in SOFiSTiK?
@@SOFiSTiKFORYOU Merci beaucoup! Thank you!
Again ... nice presentation Guido ... keep up the good work ;)
Thank you! 😊
Thank you Guido. I always found the tutorials in the software difficult to follow, especially for designers not familiar with Eurocode. Your video is the true form of "step-by-step". Keep it up!
How you define offset for the beam to obtain the T-Beam effect, I watched your video for modeling that in sofiplus but how to obtain that in Revit?
Thank you very much for help, great!!! Could you please help with one more thing. How to model a system of couplings and girders with a concrete slab over them and obtain load transfer from slab to couplings and than to girders, not to girders and couplings at the same time. In other words to make that couplings with slab are not in the same plane with girders but to transfer load to them from slab??
Very technically elaborated...Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Very elaborative....
Thanks a lot mate. Beautifully explained tutorial. Did not know you can align coordinate system to a point, line or area until now.
Have many thanks for this Video.
Very nicely explained. Thank you!
Thank you a lot !!!!
Hi. I find your video helpful :) Could you increase volume? Right now it's really quiet.
