    Good gear this. However the almost non-stop turning the contraption is a total 'turn off' of would be interest by viewers. Fair to day, most ppl viewing this will know how a ball vice works and turning it (like a carousel) does not add any value to the video. Granted, it is educational.

    Thank you Mike for your time. Your a gifted teacher as well as a master engaver. We met a number of years at the colt collectors show in Tulsa,OK You we very generious with your time and I still use the tips and techniques you taught me. I am now a full time prof. Engraver. I do have a request for future classes. I still have some trouble inlaying gold and other precious metal. I get the job done but it seems to take too much time and effort. Thiery D. Has some of his techniques on utube But in practical application i dont find his technique to work very well. Thanks Mike

    Great video very direct! One question though, what brand and model is your ball vise? I’ve noticed the jaw inserts have way more holes than the one I’ve bought. I own a victor model “the victor”. Thank you!

    Very nice work holder. Very similar to the ones I make other than I lock the two halves together onto the rotating support rather than locking the rotating support with a screw. Puts the locking mechanism at the bottom for extra clearance and pulls the clamp together rather than pushing apart to lock, if that makes any sense? Very nice work sir.

    Mike, Do you sell the castings? I have a couple of black powder revolver/pistols (45,36/38) and Ruger 22 and mag cylinder . Will the designs fit on cylinders and body/barrel for engraving them?

    This is great, but you need to make a video to show how to do this at home with common tools at hand, or that you can make out of common household tools with a little work. Anybody can do anything easily with hundred dollar specialized tools. But the world is sick of needing to have specialized tools for every possible job in the world... nobody is going to have a specialized ring engraver vice in their tool shed, or an electric engraver. Maybe I can fashion a hand engraver myself with a little work, and improvise a common vice to do the job with some jigs to clamp it in place without getting marred

    • @heroandflor
      @heroandflor 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Prescious Cheeks Well, if you're going to be a jeweler it's best to invest on the proper tools to do the job as efficiently as possible. Jewelry making is not a cheap hobby :/

    • @MyBinaryLife
      @MyBinaryLife 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      and no one would keep their jewelers tools in a tool shed...and every engraver has these tools that you say no one has, and this video isnt for people who dont already understand hand engraving. obviously.
