First visit to Japan. Arriving with my son on an early morning flight from east coast ~5am, flying economy so we will most likely be exhausted and looking to relax. Thinking we would get through Customs around 6:30 and to spa around 6:45-7:00. Would we be able to immediately take advantage of the hot springs? and stay till check-in time 3pm? We would then head to downtown to hotel.

How long was the tour? Wanna go but want to know so that I can allocate time for it.

Does the train stations from haneda, tokyo to Kyoto vise versa, accept American express credit cards to purchase train tickets? .. thank you in advance keep up the great work

I want to ask u and this is where it gets confusing. From Osaka to Tokyo, do i need to tap my IC card aside from my Shinkansen tickets to get in?

Thanks for the video. We went the same day as you, just some hours earlier. We choose just the Top Tour, and seeing your video, I'm happy we didn't go for the diamond tour. The lines, the view etc are all the same and as it's all in Japanese, we would have been disappointed. Tokyo Tower was a good experience and I would recommend it, but I would just pay half and go for the Top Tour. Tokyo Tower can conveniently be combined with a visit at TeamLabs Borderless, that is close by.

Did the tour today, did not get a gift at start just the photo at the end. What i did not like was that it just suddenly ended at top floor. Just 2 of us on tour so we waited thinking something else would happen. Had to go back down with regular visitors.

Could you also buy reserved Green Car tickets for the shinkansen on the ticket machine? It looks SOO complicated. Wouldn't it be simpler to just buy the tickets at the counter of the JR Ticket office at the station ? My route is Chiba Station to Tokyo Station to Karuizawa station and back.

Question: Why need two ticket while entering shinkansen? Whats the purpose of reading IC card, are they deducting any money from IC card?

Hi Jake, Ive 1 question would like to ask, Im travelling from haneda to shin osaka & will pickup paper ticket for shinkansen. Is this the correct way to use it? Haneda to Shinagawa tap in IC card then shinkansen transfer at Shinagawa, I need to tap IC again & insert shinkansen paper ticket at transfer gate?

Hi Jake. the case 1 makes sense. But I'm confused the case 2: get on monorail with IC card to Hamamatsu. get off at Hamamatsu to buy the paper ticket, so how did I pay or close the journey on monorail ? is there a gate at Hamamatsu to tap IC card to pay/end monorail then buy a paper ticket for upcoming trips? I'm little confused
