KAYO KT250 First Ride
มุมมอง 8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Took the new Kayo KT250 for the first ride to Redbird in Manchester KY and rode the single track with it. Anyone that's ridden that trail knows its a tough trail. I have another video coming out tomorrow with the new YZ250 pipe installed and I'll tell you it made a huge improvement.

Ttr 230 makes that bike look like a cracker box prize
This is the kind of riding I want to do!
I just bought this bike. Here to get pumped up. I’m blown away by how nice it is for Chinese.
Rejet it ,just to let you know these bikes use honda parts and ktm ,certain years ,we own 3 kayos ,parts from these bikes fit each other also ,just wrecked mine ,gotta change the front rotor got bent ,i have an apollo rotor that fits it
Has anyone ridden the EFI version and if so how was it
Has anybody ridden the EFI version mine should be at the shop any day was wondering if it was a reliable bike
What pipe is that
What year ya pipe? Or does it matter
Nice bike . What about the milleage ? Any complains
what speedometer did you put on it?
Sounds good
Anybody know where to get a skid plate for this bike, can't find it online anywhere.
2017 KTM
Hi, I would to like to ask what happened to your kayo ?
Your riding a gear to high , and definitely need to drop a sprocket and get her jetted
I have been going back and forth on if I should get a Kayo k6-R and no matter what video I end up watching on TH-cam I’m still just as unsure by the end of it. My first bike is an Apollo so I have gotten to learn what I need in a bike and what I won’t accept on my next one but I need some advice on this, if I go from an Apollo 250 to a kayo k6-r am I going to regret it or is it a smart move. Let me know any thought. Thanks y’all
A challenge on a new bike is a lot of fun
Has the bike been reliable so far?
Please send this screen link
No body understant this guy.I have a KT250 also.Original gear ratio to long.First gear like second.I'm using front sprocket 11T.
11 teeth help?
Could you send this screen link? Did you bought from AliExpress?
You have the RPMs too low, you shouldn't be in third gear, you should be in second gear to keep the RPMs up, so that way you can hit the Power Band to rear the front end up without having to throttle up and pop the clutch to get your front end up! I take it you've never ridden a 2-stroke before, or not much at all.
You never ridden one of you think you that's not near power it has a valve for low end
Your comment doesn't make any sense whatsoever! I can't even understand what you are saying! I can see when he took off that the bike has more power than what he's using, I've been racing and riding motocross most of my life and I can guarantee you that he can get the power ban to kick in more, as a matter of fact, he always let's off the throttle before the power ban even has a chance to kick in! Sad but true! 😂
@@roypatterson9910 your full of it then
Where is this trail at in S-tree area? This doesn't look like the main trail from the campground.
I'm also curious to know.
Can you give the link for the pipe you used. What year yamaha pipe was it.
Wow that was first gear? Get a xr or ttr
Nice trails.
Dont get a four stroke the bike you’re riding is perfect for the woods and way cheaper to fix than a four stroke
Please don't buy Chinese dirt bikes. Take the money and buy a used KTM. After all this is a cheap clone of a KTM. A Chinese dirt bike is throwing money down the drain.
These bikes aren’t just some normal Chinese clone, the company was started by a former Honda engineer. I personally own the same bike and when you can find it barely used it’s a great bike, they really don’t cut corners like others.
Not everyone wants to spend thousands on a KTM that’s gonna shit the bed in a year or two. Nothing wrong with Kayo, like the previous comment said the person who founded it was apart of Honda.
@@bensandhovel3555I'm purchasing number a new KayO 250 EFI in a few days was wondering how yours is holding up
@@James-yc5qe I sold it a little while ago, not for anything wrong with it I needed some cash. But for the year or so I owned it, it was perfectly reliable and held up just fine as long as you keep up with general maintenance. Really the only downside is parts availability (and the slander)
@@bensandhovel3555 LOL that's exactly why I'm asking all the comments of people that have never even ridden one I appreciate the feedback have a good one
No sabe manejar éste gringo como hace cascabelear la moto en lugar de llevarla en 1o 2da la lleva 3 o 4 mal muy mal eh
Si
Seems pretty gutless down low. Doesn't sound like the engine likes to lug at low RPM at all.
How many kilometres I can ride on one tank ?
Lil over 3 hours
Where did you get that tach? I just bought a K6 EFI and I would really like to get something like that
How are you liking the EFI I am purchasing one in a couple days I would really appreciate your input thanks
Dude you need to learn how to ride..worst shifting I've ever seen..painful to watch
Really enjoy the videos. Where is this ride at? Doe mountain?
Hello sir. I have been watching your videos and really enjoying them. I have seen your kayo with allot of mods. I would like to get mine done also. Could you pleae send me a list of the mods you have done on your bike. And where you bought them please. Your bike is looking sharp and is on point with all the upgrades you have done i have seen in other videos you have posted. Thank you Israel Hemmert
Overall, how do you like the Kayo KT 250? I just sat on one today but still kicking it around. I have a Kawasaki 230 4 stroke but wanted a 2 stoke also for a little fun. What do you think?
I like it. The only thing you really need to do is change the pipe with either one from GPX or get one for a YZ 250, but there is some cutting and welding to make it work. The quality is good and I think for the price you can't beat them. I tell everyone that tries to compare them to a KTM (I have a XC 250 TPI) there not a KTM but they don't cost 12,000.00 either.
@@steve-bg6sv as far as power, you think they would rival like a 4 stroke 250 honda/Kawi? I have a 4 stroke Kawi 230 dual sport now buy wanted something a little more peppier for moderate single track stuff.
I can't really answer that. I had a 2014 KX250F and I like the Kayo alot better. But as far as a late model I don't know.
I had the same problem with my back break. Nice ride . I have the same bike. What upgrades have you done? I am looking to upgrade mine. Any links of the upgrades would be helpful. Thanks for posting this video
Какой расход топлива ? Я слышал, что они много потребляют топлива
Do you have a link for the pipe?
why would u buy that bro it’s off brand
Maybe that’s what he can afford. Nothing wrong with that .
Not everyone can afford $8k+ bikes. He just has to learn to ride a 2 stroke
snapZ Since you're so rich can you buy me my first bike? I'd like a KTM 150sx
So what if it’s off brand. You don’t have to ride Japanese or European to have a good time.
@@davew3084 exactly
Wait a sec... what pipe is that from? I just got a GPX pipe two days ago direct from the manufacturer. Got it on Aliexpress. Took just over a week to get to me in OH. There's about 99 more of them just sitting over there. I like the GPX pipe because I don't have to cut up my stock pipe. It bolts right into the engine. (edit) Just saw in another comment that it's a Lex.
Did you put this gpx pipe on your kayo 250 kt? If so how is it? Also do you have a link for it?
@@izzy1831 Not yet. I have the GPX silencer on it's way right now too. Since it's coming from overseas, I expect it in another week or two. I ordered the silencer too because I'm hoping not to cut up the stock silencer to make it fit. I will be doing some minor fabrication on the GPX chamber once I start the installation. I'm going to cut away the existing mounting points and weld on new ones so it will bolt directly to the stock Kayo mounting points. Anyway, it's all still a few weeks away.
@@izzy1831 Oh...last thing...others have done it already. There's a channel here on TH-cam that shows it, it's Evel KeStriegel . The pipe works great because they are tuned to the KT's engine. They make them hit hard in the middle.
Does the pipe make the bike worth it?
@@balls7973 I'd say so. Here's what I tell people though. First thing, the engine is an exact replica of the one year only (in the US, several years in Europe) Yamaha WR200. That's how it runs. Or think KDX200. It feels almost identical in the power department. It's better in handling, if for no other reason than it's a much newer chassis design. Those bikes, and this KT250, are woods machines. They do that well. So, if a KDX200 or 220 would do what you want to do, so will the Kayo. It's not a motocross bike. The engine wasn't designed to be. It's a 2 stroke made for longevity and reliability. I'm happy to answer any questions you have here. I'm usually quicker with my responses. I just happened to be away a few days.
Have you had any problems with it fouling plugs? Nice bike like your video.
Not so far
Buddy no disrespect get a 4 stroke. Also stop dragging out the clutch. Learn to blip the gas. It’s a 2 stroke most likely your first. You will get it though watch a few videos and practice. You don’t always have to go out on trails you should also find a field to practice different skill sets. Good luck buddy enjoy
I put a Lectron on it today. It gives it alot more power.
Sounds like the new pipe made a huge improvement!
Your riding style is much more suited to a 4 stroke
Definitely needs a 4 stroke I can’t even watch any more. 2 minutes in. “Let the clutch out and give it some more gas”.
Just order the pipe from GPX, its made to fit.
Do you have a link? I want to order one.
GPX? For 250 what or do they know what one fits?
This is the type of riding I love. Very old school enduro like.
Did you get an owners manual with yours? I'm trying to find one.
Hey buddy did you ever find a owners manual. I was able to find one on line and downloaded it. And the printed it off. It's not great. But i could send you the link if you need it
@@izzy1831 I did, but thank you for getting back to me. My dealership eventually was able to grab a digital copy for me. I have it on my phone and I printed it up too. I think I'm good to go. 👍
You're never on the pipe! Try ringing its neck!
What brand pipe and what year YZ250? What modifications did it need to fit?
It's a Lex pipe. The year or brand doesn't really matter. You have to cut the pipe off of the Kayo pipe and weld it to the new pipe. Same thing for the silencer. There quite a bit of cutting and welding invloved.
