Drops of Water - John Strathdee (1970s Christian Folk Music)
มุมมอง 8815 ปีที่แล้ว
From the 1976 John Strathdee album "There's Still Time." Side A Track 5. Christian folk music from the 1970s. To my knowledge, this album is only available on vinyl and is not on TH-cam as of 2019 (until now!). I present it here for those of you who do not have access to this great recording. It's too good to miss. As this is ripped from old vinyl, there is some popping, but no skips. Credits: ...

The Battle of Shiloh Hill / The Rebel Soldier

The Battle of Shiloh Hill / The Rebel Soldier
only one other youtube video with this version THANK YOU
What is this version called?
@@RideForRuin i think it was made by National Geographic back in the day on one of there old records but as far as the song title it’s just the battle of Shiloh hill and rebel soldier for the last song
@Ilovechocolatelabs It's sounds really good I wish there was an official version of it
@@RideForRuin yeah me too I stumbled on this version like 2 months ago but found this better video like a week ago if I ever see an old record of it sittin in a shop I’ll definitely grab it
goodnight yall yall yall yall yall
As a Texan I approve of this version of the song
Ah... I love the sound of pillaging in the morning...
Y'now. Now that's a hungry billy goat goat goat goat goat
Had these vinyls growing up. Thank you. Love sharing with my children.
Hey yall ol' Billy is back thats one hungry lamb
Haven’t identified as a Christian in years but this song slaps
There were Tennessee Confederates in my family who fought in the battle of Shiloh , they lived but I can’t imagine what it was like living life after it and after the war as a whole.
I used to have this record
I have this disc but haven't listened to it in a while. Suddenly this song popped into my head, but the lyrics weren't quite right. An hour of searching the web and getting increasingly frustrated. . .FINALLY i realized the line isn't "It's no shame, it's no sin" and that they don't say "Wrong"! This is a great album and i need to get their others!
MEOW MAN!
I think this was their best album…
Well, that's a pretty hungry little Billy go-go-go-goat
"the flag that makes you free" or else.
Abolition wasn’t a suggestion Johnny
@@memeboi6017 doesnt seem to apply as long as they come through mexico
@@memeboi6017except Billy yank didn’t want them up north as freemen, too much competition in the work force. Well documented that they where burnt out and ran out. Even a lot of northerners didn’t want part of “a fight to free them”.
@@jdwillis7778why did they sing songs about it then ? there was a big time christian revival at the time
Really wish this album would make it onto Spotify!
I hear the Phil Keaggy influence here. I love it.
For those complaining about the lyrics being modified.... there's like a dozen different spins on this song, some from the early twentieth century. This is from 1976. Though like I said, you can find earlier.
Anyone else Droopy Wolf whistle brought him here 😂
good song
Dude, this is the perfect intro song for an imaginary Sonic, Tom, and Jerry episode called *Texas Tango.*
This reminds me of the tune Jordan is a hard road to travel very similar in the chorus
Another very rare and difficult to find song due to the lyrics being unacceptable in modern times is They May Call You Hawaiian On Broadway.
We’re sure gonna miss you Billy Billy Billy Billy Billy Billy
radio edit "black folks" That's not what the original song's lyrics were, and that's why you don't find it around youtube that much.
"Mighty poor grade of logs this year. Green lumber."
As a Union re-enactor we sang this song many times!
Secession looking pretty great rn...
Always was.
Splendid
Thanks so much for putting this up! Hopefully it will be available for digital purchase soon.
In a few wise words coming from that southern wolf from Tex Avery show with Droopy when Droopy cousins made the Confederate flag he said thats realy pretty but you forgot the stars then they bonk him over the head with something heavy then he said there must be some cotton picking Yankey among us.
Meow man.
Thanks for this album.
May the fallen find their eternal peace.
Oh can't you see the Wolf is coming with a wide grin on his face
Thank you for unlocking forbidden memories from my childhood CDs ❤
I'm Japanese, but I want to make a homespun dress using cotton from Japan, which has the same humid climate as the southern United States.
Love this
She wore hats, heels and white gloves at church or any occasions that were formal. Good grief she was typical of her time. loved her wildly. She loved being feminine which suited me just fine. She was a Southern mountain girl of NC and proud to proclaim her heritage, a Scot in the NC Smokies: A Scot just as myself even though I was an outlander to her. 60 + years with her were not enough. Our eyes collided and the issue was decided for the next 60+ years. A fairy tale come true deep in those dark and mysterious mountains.
Thank you so much-- I have been looking for this song! Love it.
Good dog, Man.
Man man man man man man
My condolences to all fallen comrades at the Battle of Shiloh Hill on that day, 161years ago. From Austria
Sounds like a Christian version of John Lennon or oasis a bit very good sound and blend of instruments
Shiloh means peace 6 April a April 7 But Shiloh Hill Tennessee
Shiloh was Definitely not Peaceful on April 6,-7
I saw these guys play last night in Nashville. Joel joked "Don't ever name your record 'Disappear'....." He was probably right.
What a truly lovely version of this song! The best I've ever heard! A perfect singer for this song as well!
This sounds like Burl Ives. Is he singing?
Desc. Says Jonathan Eberheart.
