We are a young family of 6, sharing our lifestyle and experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly, while out on the road. We are providing situations to bring awareness and help educate others when possible. Our goal is to help others along the way and possibly bring inspiration to our fellow truckers and potential truckers. Join us on our journey as we venture into a life of OTR trucking.

scamsss
I think you need to quit your whining
Most of the time, Back in the Day. I NEEDED THAT extra time for sleep. But, THESE Days. Y'ALL run gps, tracker, digital BS!!! NO MORE PAPER LOGBOOKS (with an S!)!!!
Detention pay after 4 hours. Hurry up and wait it par for the course in trucking. Toughen up and get over it.
2 hours after appointment time = detention time pay $$&
Put a bike patch
It’s called detention pay. You should be getting it. If not, stop using that broker.
Nope. Stupid logic. If you want rules to “apply both ways”, then include them in a contract. The reason you can’t do that is because if you did, they would just tell you to fuck off and bring another owner operator instead. Gotta be realistic in this business.
Time is money.
Owner ops do get paid if they’re smart enough to include it in the rate confirmation. Its not complicated
I had a contract once that paid standby time, I got paid hourly if i was delayed after the appointment time.
Thats basic economics
Owner operators have to wait like everybody else! They are not special!
As a O/O, most loads I took had a payment after four hours from the appointment time. If I liked the load/shipper I did not worry too much about it. I wanted to get more loads from them.
Exactly
So true!
This is how expensive cars are delivered of course it’s legal.. but those trucks are specially made for it and have tiedowns and straps..
I did a lot of SAN DIEGO to VEGAS runs as a driver at GREYHOUND. When I'd get stuck with one of our old, full toilet MCI coaches, in order to reach 40mph on The CAJON PASS I had to turn off the AC. Sometimes it would be 106°.
Guy I bought an otr code reader. Now I just force regen and clear codes. Lol rolling😊
It happened to me today..it's full coolant
Blizzard conditions I-80 Nebraska
Why don’t anyone have a look and help him🤔
Why?
👀👀👀👀
At least he's not trying to blindside it.
always look on your tail
good driver
Promo SM 😍
Legal? Is it affordable? Lol
This is how my hero (dad) got me my 1st three(3) wheeler as i was a kid and he drove truck since I can remember but recently passed do to COVID/pneumonia supposedly @ 59 and after stopped smoking and done everything right for 12 years , he used the company truck and purchased an out of town honda 110 three wheeler and brought it home for me , my first atv , sadly i miss my dad dearly these days, greatest soul /man I ever will and have known ! Came from nothing and made a lot !!!! 😢
Foolish Questions
If it fits it ships
Michael Knight did it years ago, all fine
Why wouldn't it be legal if they are tied down?? I have hauled cars and boats on boat trailers and popup campers all inside of dryvans and i would use logistic post ratchet straps or i had one trailer that had pullup chains in the floor for securing vehicles or coils of metal.
If it fits it ships 🤷🏽♂️
So long as properly tied down, not hanging out the back, it is legal. There are companies that specialize in transporting classic, antique, show vehicles in specifically designed closed trailers.
Key words "specifically designed". dry vans aint
do new York City.
Try eastern PA or Jersey son .LA is wide open!😂😂
Try going to Seattle Washington that's a nightmare
Try blind side alley dock, that’s what’s fun
ur terminal connections look pretty bad, be sure, and clean them up and coat them with a non corrosive spray because they will leak volts ⚡️
Setting your battery on the pavement you'll be replacing it in another 7 months to a year because concrete and asphalt drain the charge out the battery
That's what you get when you buy Napa batteries. Next time go down to your local Caterpillar dealer and buy cat batteries. They are much better.
They don’t look new
48v? Or that’s in parallel
12v, during driving it's 14v.
@@MrFriday83 that doesn’t make much sense. If it’s only a 12v system why would it show low voltage during operation ???
Amazon Drivers need to band together and file suit for the under thigh bruising and damage from the delivery van seatbelt sticking up too high. Any other drivers for Amazon experience this?👇
Pay the unloaders more money and maybe the will actually work
That has nothing to do with it. I used to work on an Amazon dock and manage it. We load them too to bottom with packages. It takes time and there is often issues from the pick department that slows things down. Even when I was killing it on speed it will take one man 2 hours to load a truck top to bottom
@@TheSonyExperience no it doesn't brother I did it too at Target I was in control of 7 to 10 trucks at one time by myself filling them from top to bottom it does not take long at all people are lazy and they're there for the hours not the work
@@smilehappy3112 you just said target. The video is about Amazon. The fluid rate of our sorter was 1000 packages per hour per lane. We could fit 5000 packages in a truck. About 2000 of those were envelopes and 3000 in boxes. And that’s assuming the sorter never went down or picking didn’t fall behind which it always did. I now manage transportation for 6 DCs. I know exactly how long it takes in ideal circumstances
@@TheSonyExperience you have no idea what it's like to be a good hard worker for every problem there's a solution but you have to have the attitude and the means to get the job done this is why I stay on the dock because when everybody quits I stay in I shine baby I don't need machines I'll load all 5000 cases myself
@@smilehappy3112 bruhhhh what do you mean you don’t use machines? If the ship sorter doesn’t work the package doesn’t move from one side of the building to the other. The loading is by hand but if they are in the second level of the building, how do you suppose I get them to the outbound dock?? I’ve been out of that game for years. I was loading back in the day. But I don’t think you understand what I’m saying.
Agreed Amazon is better if you're an hourly company driver
