Imagine doing these while improvising... (transcribed by me)
January 7, 1965: Carnegie Hall, New York City, New York (Studio)
Horowitz was preparing for his momentous return in 1965, after a hiatus of twelve years. Given the profound influence he had previously left on the music world, this was an event that was bound to create massive ripples.
In preparation for his once again debut at Carnegie Hall, he went through multiple rehearsals by renting the entire Carnegie Hall without an audience (which in itself is an extraordinary undertaking). This is an improvisation that he played to test the piano and warm up his hands before all practices during his first rehearsal in January 1965. Damn it, he must have either composed it beforehand or otherwise, there can be no doubt that he is mad (either way, it's epic). Just think about being able to play and utilize such passages routinely. That is why he is called a maestro...

It seems like March 21 Version, not the January 17 version. In example, in the January 17 version, it has a mistake on 5:08. But this version is not. 이거 3월 21일 버전 같아요. 음질도 그렇고 전체적으로 1월 17일 연주와는 사뭇 다르군요

I generally love and appreciate Rachmaninoff to the highest degree, but I have to say that I probably “don't understand” this piece, because I find it empty and ugly - and wonder whether it can really be by Rachmaninoff. Extremely strange and terrible.

Anyone explain what H did with Bydlo 10:00? Original written with 5 sharps - g# minor - here with two flats but these are always neutralised and H adds back all the sharps as accidentals making it much harder to read! There are changes - especially chord thickening - but the basis is the same notes so why change key signature?

It is quite interesting to note that Scriabin follows the tonal principles but adapts them to his personality and to what he ants to express; hence a quai permanent tension.

In an interview with Horowitz once, Mike Wallace (CBS/60 Minutes) asked, "Maestro, how is it that your playing is so different?" He replied, "I love every single note." We hear that, and love his playing, always the definitive performance of everything he played, to my ear. 🏆🎹♥️
