Scarlatti’s Sonata K 208 performed in some passages according to the 18th century ‘Rubato style’.
In a letter to his father, Mozart wrote: ‘…I am always strictly in time. They all wonder at that. They cannot understand how I keep the left hand indipendent in the tempo rubato of an Adagio, for with them the left hand always follows the right’ (23th October 1777).
The ‘Rubato style’, suitable for slow and ‘cantabile’ Tempo, was also mentioned by Carl Ph. E.

Thanks for appreciating and for your comment! About repeats and a slower tempo I would have agreed with you, but take a look at what Scarlatti wrote: just a quaver to go back in 2/2 tempo :)
You understand the harpsichord. Bach talks about playing in a "cantabile" style. I can't think of a better example, both the piece and your interpretation.
